In 2011, a simple gadget used in the measuring of the quantity of oil pumped into oil tankers got defect and the govt never found it right to have a new gadget in place before the resumption of the pumping of oil into the tankers.

If they are culpable they should be tried for economic sabotage. Are thse not the same people who allowed hard drugs to pass through until the drugs were discovered at Heathrow Airport? The above is not true, because, it was under JJ and the NDC that Anglogold acquired the rights to Ashanti Gold Fields.

A Turkish cargo plane carrying 1.5 tons of gold from Ghana to Dubai has been held at Istanbul'sAtatürk Airport for four days due to missing documents, Do?an news agency has reported.

The plane reportedly arrived in Istanbul on Jan. 1 for refueling and a personnel change.

It has been claimed that the plane was actually coming from Algeria and flying to another country.

The plane has been locked up and sealed as part of security measures.

Nick the Dragon slayer knew that the penalty for his desire would be death should he try to touch them.

One day Nick revealed his secret desire to his colleague, Horatio the Physician, who was the King's chief doctor.

Horatio the Physician, exclaimed that he could arrange for Nick the Dragon Slayer to satisfy his desire, but it would cost him 1, 000 gold coins to arrange it.

Without pause, Nick the Dragon Slayer readily agreed to the scheme. The next day, Horatio the Physician made a batch of itching powder and poured a little bit into the Queen's brassiere while she bathed. Soon after she dressed, the itching commenced and grew intense.

Upon being summoned to the Royal Chambers to address this incident, Horatio the Physician informed the King and Queen that only a special saliva, if applied for four hours, would cure this type of itch, and that tests had shown that only the saliva of Nick the Dragon Slayer would work as the antidote to cure the itch.

The King quickly summoned Nick the Dragon Slayer. Horatio the Physician then slipped Nick the Dragon Slayer the antidote for the itching powder, which he quickly put into his mouth, and for the next four hours, Nick worked passionately on the Queen's voluptuous and magnificent breasts.

The Queen's itching was eventually relieved, and Nick the Dragon Slayer left satisfied and touted as a hero.

One ounce of gold sells in the world market at about $1,500.00. Thus, 1.5 tons of gold (ie 860,100 ounces) will sell at $1.29 billion, This is too huge for just one transaction.
The facts of the story are a suspect. Either the amount of gold reportedly being carried by the aircraft is highly exaggerated or the entire story is untrue.

Turkey holds plane carrying 1.5 tons of gold to Dubai

Turkey has held a cargo plane carrying 1.5 tons of gold from Ghana to Dubai, reportedly for its failure to present necessary documents.

The Turkish aircraft had landed in Istanbul's Atatürk Airport on January 1 to refuel and change personnel, Turkey’s Hurrietdailynews reported on Sunday.

The starting point and the destination of the plane is not clear yet but the report said it may have departed from Algeria and was headed for another country.

The aircraft has reportedly been locked up and sealed for security reasons.

Plane carrying gold held in Istanbul

ISTANBUL, Turkey, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Officials said a Turkish cargo plane carrying 1.5 tons of gold has been held at Istanbul's airport for four days due to missing documents.

Hurriyet Daily News said the plane was carrying the gold from Ghana to Dubai, and arrived in Istanbul for refueling and a personnel change.

Hurriyet Daily News said some are claiming the plane was coming from Algeria and flying to another country.

The plane has been locked up and sealed due to security measures.

We continue to have pregnant women dying whilst delivering,no portable drinking water for about 70% of the ghanaian population,poor roads all over the country. Dont talk about lack of job opportunities for the new graduates from colleges.Selfish politicians all over Africa a strangling their nationals instead of relieving them from poverty,squalor and diseases.Can you imagine how much the nation has lost over the years.This can better the lives of inhabitants of a whole planet.Africa will continue to wallow in complete darkness if bribery and corruption are not eradicated from all aspects of human life.Did African nations fight for freedom and emancipation only to cripple the lives of their citizens? Wars and political instability have robbed the continent of genuine path to progressive economic take off and prosperity. Our nations are far ,far away from economic advancement and maturity all because we cannot monitor our resources to provide the much needed foreign exchange to augment the gross and net domestic product.
Corruption is pervasive in all areas of our system and everyone is making frantic effort to loot as much as possible.People in responsible positions have ignored their promises to the electorate and fattening their coffers at the detriment of the society.
There should be transparency in the acquisition of assets of people in responsible positions.They should enumerate their properties as they ascend into authority and they should be gazetted.When they leave office ,the people will have to know how much they acquired and how they financed these properties.It is absolutely fine to work hard and acquire good things in life but it is very disgusting to do that at the expense of the citizenry.
Individuals who illegally amass wealth should loss them to the nation and they should be incarcerated for a reasonable number of years as punishment and a deterrant to others who might do the same.Chinua Achebe was very remorseful in his book THINGS FALL APART when he wrote about the adverse repercussion of bribery and corruption in the Nigerian society.These social vices are still persisting in Nigeria and everywhere in Africa.
When are we going to get out of these vices and prop our countries onto the path of massive economic and social advancement?How long are we going to remain the poorest and the most wretched continent on the face of the universe? A Turkish cargo plane carrying 1.5 tons of gold from Ghana to Dubai has been held at Istanbul's Atatürk Airport for four days due to missing documents, Do?an news agency has reported.

The plane reportedly arrived in Istanbul on Jan. 1 for refueling and a personnel change.

It has been claimed that the plane was actually coming from Algeria and flying to another country.

The plane has been locked up and sealed as part of security measures.

It will hopefully be investigated how "Gold from Ghana" could possibly have left the country without proper documentation. It's a serious matter that - in the interest of transparency- should not be swept under the carpet!
