I think it is a shame on this boy Okudjeto Ablakwa for the stance he took in trying to torpedo what is due to the largest opposition, NPP when it comes to the 2nd depty speaker of parliament. Ablakwa thought he can continue to act and behave like a "thug" as he has been doing working as a deputy minister of information. He has never sat in parliament and does not know parliamentary norms. He sworn never to let Hon. Ghartey become the 2nd deputy speaker because of the position of Hon. Ghartey and NPP as a whole, in his own language "to punish him and NPP for opposing the declaration of John Mahama as the president-elect" (now sworn in President Mahama - congratulations President). Ablakwa should know that when it comes to parliamentary norms, the language is different, not the type of "street language" and his disrespectful nature which he has been protraying ever since he became fortunate to become a deputy minister at the instance of the late President Mills (may his soul rest in peace) (someone who has never signed a pay check in his life until President Mills made him what he is today). He should fine tune his language because parliament is for honorable members and not the type of street talk and behaviour that he has been showing over the years. He should also know that he is representing a bigger constituency in the Volta Region and I hope his constituents expects him to behave politely in his choice of words. In his position as deputy minister of information, he does not even seem to know the difference between governmental affairs and that of the party which he belongs, always mixing apples with oranges. He seems to know everything but he does not seem to know it all. Hon. Ghartey deserved that position and he got it. I am very sure that some one from his own party, NDC who has been there a long time like Hon. Kumbor, the majority leader and the present speaker Hon. Adjaho might have sat him down to explain the pros and cons in parliment to him. Now he is back-tracting by saying "NDC proved to be more democratic". He has to learn and learn fast else he will be found to be among those classified as "waste of space" in parliament before he sits in parliament. A word to the wise is....

This in itself is a plus for NPP and a first to Ghanaian Democracy. It shows Ghanaian political parties instead of calling their supporters to arms are prepared to use the courts. Well done NPP for showing how it should be done. You have set a presidence for future generation.
