Need that chin-chinga seller turned newspaper editor,Alhaji Bature, be reminded that many constituencies in the country were allowed to vote without biometric verification, although EC prior to the elections issued a fiat that 'No verification, No vote ' ?

In fact Nature played a cruel trick on Alhaji Bature by allowing him to live instead of getting aborted.

The NPP has provided the Supreme Court with its evidence and it is left to our learned Judges to come out with their verdict and not the likes of Alhaji Bature to tell us how 'sweeya'* tastes like, because some Ghanaians are vegetarians and some cannot afford meat under the Mills/Mahama/Amissah-Arthur govt.

2) when someone give a figure with a range or margin of error, what it means is that the other persons's figure must fall with the margin of error to be accurate. if it falls out of the margin, it does not matter how small, it is inaccurate.
3) now check somthing - you will realise that when you consider the margin of error quoted by the CODEO people, on each of the 2 occasions, the EC figure falls out! THERE...

I am really much disappointed in CODEO's so called evidence. They only talked about the collation of results at the various polling stations through text messaging. What about irregularities during and after voting? No verification no vote system, presiding officers not signing the declaration forms, electoral officers failed to validate the ballot papers and many others. If CODEO thinks they have done something good as far as the election was concerned, then they should factor all these irregularities in theior report but not only turned out. CODEO should go and come again. They shoudn't allow some of us think they were collaborated with EC and the president to subvert the will of the people.

We are grateful for this piece, but I do not think it sheds light for our path as far as the election petition in the Supreme Court is concerned. In the first place, I am not aware that CODEO is a party or intends to be a party to the case. Consequently, I will not know how the Court is going to see and/or consider whatever evidence that CODEO may have. In the second place, since this article is being written AFTER the Election Petition was filed, it would , in my humble opinion, have been more useful if the writer had paused to use the evidence that he has to respond to specific allegations in the petition to the point of substance, meaning, taking the allegations one by one and stating with specificity the point at which any particular allegation was unfounded or misconceived, etc. For instance, it was alleged by the Petitioners ( not the NPP,please!) that there were polling stations and constituencies where the mandatory 'no verification,no voting' regulation was totally ignored. The writer ought to educate us ,first, as to whether that allegation is factually correct or not. In the next place, the writer ought to let us have the benefit of his view, legal or otherwise,assuming he does not deny the allegation, whether it was proper ( and of course legal) that those 'unverified' votes should have been included in the results so declared by the Electoral Commission. Of course, the question must be answered whether ,indeed, our President did benefit more from that than 'our President in waiting'. Facts, they say, is sacred, but opinion is free. We have come a very long way as a country to allow ourselves to go emotional and sentimental over every issue. What I have said with regard to the 'no verification' allegation must and ought to go for each and every allegation that the Petitioners have leveled against the EC and the sitting President. I regret to state that that is about the only way that the legal process is supposed to work. The Supreme Court is a court of law and not a court of sentiments. At the end of the day, it is for the Petitioners to lead evidence regarding the primary facts that constitute the sting of their petition. If they succeed, the Judges of the Supreme Court are just enjoined by law to apply the law to those facts or evidence. Of course, if the petitioners are unable to prove their case, they would be thrown out, in all probability, with punitive legal costs in favour of the Respondents. In the circumstances, it is irrelevant and immaterial whether any respectable body or organisation 'saw' the election as fair or not. In any case, my greatest disappointment is about the kind of thinking (which appears to have seized the minds of Ghanaians when discussing this issue) that a robbery is less a robbery because the robber was not armed or that the robber did not use violence as part of his scheme of operations. Please, when discussing irregularities about elections, let us not think r believe that each petition must contain such an allegation. Indeed, a petition to annul an election need not even be founded on an allegation of fraud ( at all), just that there were irregularities in the conduct of the election and that the level or scale of irregularities were such as to affect the final results. Do not forget that the Electoral Commission is made up human beings like you and I and not angels and therefore it will not be reasonable to expect that they will have a national election that is not fraught with some irregularities, BUT the scale of irregularities will always be considered by a court of law in its determination having regard to the totality of the evidence. For instance, the impression has been created that our President was the sole beneficiary of bloated votes and 'in-coming President' was similarly the sole victim 'reduced votes'. Is that a fact? If so, what are the legal implications of that fact. That is the kind of discourse that will serve our present purpose. In closing I wish to make an impassioned plea to my fellow countrymen that irrespective of our political persuasions, we should please, try or endeavour to have some light that will illuminate our path in our national discourses. The heat that we generate (instead of or in addition to light) is "too much", to borrow a popular local expression.

CODEO declared President Mahama winner with 51.38%, with Nana Akufo-Addo; 47.17% with a margin of error of 1.68% while the EC gave President Mahama 5,574,761, which represented 50.70% of the valid votes cast, whiles his main contender, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the NPP, polled 5,248,898, representing 47.74 per cent. So what then is the beef of the NPP? I think the NPP are bad losers and they should listen to the voice of reason. Otherwise, their future as a party is at great stake.

There are supposed to be 26,000 polling stations in Ghana and CODEO claims they sent 1492 observers. To do a good job of observing from the start to the end of polls, each of these observers ought to have been stationed in one polling station. This will only allow CODEO to be abreast with less than 1% (in fact 0.0574%) of what went on on election day. And they think that data is sufficient to draw any valid conclusions. If, on the other hand, these CODEO observers were roaming about all the constituencies then I doubt whethere they observed any of the schemes that unfolded carefully. In the case of the latter CODEO needs to be more wary about what they claim as scientific since what CODEO claims to do best does not come near what some of us have been trained to accept as scientific enough.

These are interested happenings and I believe that should CODEO attempt to support Afari Gyan in court they could be so disgraced that they would want to either disolve the group or look for financial support in future to do a better job.

I remember in the good old days, what we did on the last day of the acadamic year, when schools were closing for the long vacation. This day,those of us who were attending schools in the villages, called this great day 'OUR DAY'.

On this great day,'our day', our parents prepared all types of dishes/meals for us to take them to our various schools and we enjoyed them with our friends and teachers.

Now, after we had finished enjoying these dishes, we made merry and sang this song in Akan :

".Wo adi awie aka wo nsohwe" which meant,

"You have finished eating your food, now is the time for the announcement of your examination results."
This would be the time when our teachers would assemble us and announce our examination results and these results would be handed over to us for them to be given to our parents when we got home. This was a time for 'sorrow and joy'. 'Happiness and joy' for those who did well in the examinations and 'Sorrow and melancholy' for those who failed the examinations.

And at this time, those who did not perform well, or those who had failed would regret that they even participated in the 'meals' and the merriment' and others who did well wished they had more of the dishes to cosume and wished they were at home with their parents to announce the results to them.

We had 'OUR DAY' yesterday, and now NPP , NDC, and the rest of all Ghanaians :

"Wo adi awie Aka wo nsohwe."

The inauguration is over, and now, 'The Supreme Court Decision'. The Almighty Decision. The day of 'Amergadon' is approaching fast.

If there was ONE poling station where the electoral officer and agents did not sign the official register of votes cast, every vote from that station is NULL and VOID.
