The fact of the matter Mr. Pratt and your Alhaji source is that, this president is in an enviable position of setting a radical tone to change the type of politics which Ghanaians have suffered for years. In that, he owes no debts or ties to any (so called)old party gurus. The stars are lined in his favour to wipe the slate clean, to start affresh and to restore the pride back into Ghanaians worldwide.

Eight years will prove just that.

They are now well payed enough and should stick to parliament debating bills and leave it to the experienced professionals to execute the bills.

Bringing dinasours like PV Obeng and others will not help the executive. Please this the president alone- the executive office has noting to do with regional balance but people with whom the president can work at his office.

Apparently, Akkufo-Addo is battling the legitimacy of JDM as the President of Ghana, but the battle within his own party (NDC) is even more difficult, and is likely to have Ghana revisit the dark days of the 1980's, under Dr. Hilla Limann, one more time.

Lemann was rendered powerless by people like Mr. Kankam Dacoster, Okotwer Bekoe, Immoro Igara and Immoro Anyana, to name a few. Internally, Lemann was very weak and not privy to the true decision-makers - Lemann just sign decisions he knew nothing about, and corruption rose-up to the roof. They became so preoccupied with corruption and power that they lost guard on security.

Rampant corruption and weakness in security made it very easy for Rawlings and his men to penetrate the military and toppled the government of President Lemann who was also the Chairman of the Armed Forces.

Gradually, the powers of the President Mahama is being weakened from within by imposing on him to ask permission before he can make appointments.

Eventually, he may have ask permission before he can talk or take any action. And, the foregoing is just internal battles. Pressure from the opposition to share power to enable him the peace he needs to rule Ghana has not yet been considered - that will become more pronounced after the Supreme Court confirm Mahama as winner of the election.

To be frank, the President needs prayers from the religious community. Getting peace of mind to rule by his own conscience will be a very difficult to achieve, if his dethroned by any means within the next few years.
