Now the key question is, how did that 'less manipulation' affect the outcome of the elections? We live in an electronic age where the touch of abutton can significantly change things. It is not the level or degree of manipulation that matters, but how it either significantly or otherwise affects a sample. A simple and single act at the Collation Centre, for example, could impact on the outcome much more seriously than one thousand different actions at different polling centres. I understand that Afari Djan has admitted as a mistake, the addition of 127,000 votes to those of President John Mahama. How many such 'mistakes' occurred?
  Personally, I do not believe the NPP are doing this for themselves. They are doing Ghana a great favour by going to court to seek redress for an alleged wrong. Governments should be elected on merit, not through propaganda and unacceptable rigging of elections. Remember that once the precedent is set, it will guide the conduct of our futur elections and not just this one. We should not be blinded by personality hatred to the extent that we gloss over an alleged injustice. Chatham House can shout it from the rooftops, we should not be deterred from charting a proper course for our fledgling democracy. It is neither about President Mahama nor Nana Akuffo Addo.It is about Ghana, the will of our peole, our democracy and international standing. Our hallmark should be the prevalence of the truth at all times.

  Some people want international institutions to judge elections in Ghana instead of the Supreme Court of Ghana evaluating the evidence and making a judgement. Are such people scared of the truth? An elected President should be the one the people of Ghana truly voted for, not who some UK body thinks won. If the Supreme Court sees the evidence in favor of Mahama then he is vindicated if not then Nana Addo is vindicated. The people of Ghana stand to gain either way the Supreme Court rules so there is nothing for people to worry about. People, allow the Supreme Court to do the job we pay the judges to do.

  We hardly need foreigners to provide us with a credible analysis of the reasons for the electoral collapse of the NPP during last year's election. Even the dogs in the streets of Nima could see that a party that appeared to present itself as an Akans only party wasn't going to carry the vote.This image was substantially reinforced by the failure of the party hierarchy to publicly censure a wayward Ken Agyapong. This inadvertently gave the impression that some prominent members of the party shared similar views. The famous all die be die utterances of the NPP flagbearer became firmly fixed in the minds of peace loving Ghanaians as the pronouncements of troublemaker and brawler. Ken Agyapong's intemperate comments about various non akan tribes did enormous damage to the image of the NPP possibly causing many non Akan members of the NPP to take flight. Again not to be too unkind to Nana Add I commented time and again on the inordinate amount of time the flagbearer spent abroad meeting especially Western leaders. It was as if he looked to these people to endorse him as President rather than to the Ghanaian electorate. I could go on and on but why bother? The essential thing is that the NPP should learn from their past mistakes ( of course they must first admit that they have made serious mistakes) and then quickly reorganize and move forward. But will they?

  No matter how it is dressed, or diplomatic it may be, it is their interest that comes first and sometimes one may find that this guy may be sponsored by a company who wants the status quo not to change for their economic interest; they do and say things that would benefit them economically first, the effect on the ordinary Ghanaian does not bother them one bit.
  
  We have our Supreme Courts and our constitution, let our people deal with it the best way they think fit and not listen to some professors or so-called experts on African affairs who are always fed or read sanitized view about Africa.

  To illustrate his point, Prof. Nuggent indicated that in 2008 there were some unusually high voter turnouts in some constituencies in the Ashanti Region, as much as 98.3 per cent in one instance, as well as credible incidents of violence and voter intimidation."
  
  I strongly believe Mr. Alex Vines is basing his argument for the simple fact that Nana Akufo-Addo calm down his supporters not to take to the streets and fight with violence. I believe if things had been the other way around with chaos on the streets Mr. Alex Vines couldn't have said what he saying or thinking now. Nana Akufo-Addo should be praised form his calm attitude and go to court position.
  
  If the election is allowed to stand the next election will be be chaos because no one will listen to the Electoral Commission or whatsoever with fear the other side is breaking the rules and voting with no massively. It will always be used as an execuse to do things that are unjust. I stongly hope the court takes future into consideration when judging the case in front of them.

How can a body in another part of the world crush a case that is before our highest court, which our judges have not even started to hear yet? This tells how some of our corrupt media function. That is not the way he envisioned to end his career, likewise, he must has felted stupid to think that he will get away with such a dubious scheme.
