The Ghana Tourism Authority have the power to develop the sector. Just place visionary Board at the Authority. Persons who can see beyond their monthly allowance. The Authority must first assist the Districts and Municipalities to develop their infrastructures. In terms of funding, let the people collectively operate Social Investment Fund to generate funds for their own projects. Be the strategic investor in your own community projects. That is what Nationalism means. Secondly, the Authority in collaboration with Brand Ghana must run an independent Ghana Tourism Consulate pilot project. The purpose of the Consulate is to solely market Ghana to the out world. Namibia Tourism Board, has a Consulate hear in Cape Town, SA. Changing our one ways of things won't kill anybody in Ghana. I last check on the website www.ghfair.com and was highly impressed. The GTA must partner such private organisations to promote domestic tourism. SA with all its in bound tourists, generate 70% of the total tourism receipts from domestic tourism!!! with all its security problems. Gh must wake-up.

This a poor journalistic job in fact and data presentation and comparative analysis. Which Region in Ghana is best tourist attraction;how many youths employed in tourist industry,
what is earning potential,what roles and services do youths provide. Comparing tourism with cocoa or mining sector or manufacturing show more substantive plus instructive work. The writer could even share a sample survey from tourists why Ghana is a preferred choice.It is obvious that the African diaspora leads the Ghana drive because of historic links to the Slave castles. Ghana is English speaking which is great for communications.The people of Ghana are the REAL assets-Black Star soccer team success at World Cup,Kente fabric
and other crafts,Pan-Africanism and Nkrumah's legacy,peace and security, no crimes, plus great hospitality.
Investment must target modernise affordable hotels/resorts,road net-works with Rest Stops, clean water plus environment etc. Ghanaians must also enjoy Ghana by travelling to different regions for family vacations. Tourism in Ghana should not focus on White European/American tourists Pounds and Dollars thus promoting some kind of "Apartheid" tourism. Finally,tourism in Ghana must not turn Ghana into a decadent sex-worker haven patronized by sex perverts, a source of HIV/AIDS!!
