When, did the likes of Asiedu Nketia and his connoisseurs in government realize the need to accord Mr Rawlings the respect he deserves as the founder of the NDC party? Why have the regional ministers and even the chiefs in the Volta region suddenly seen the need to intervene and reconcile the NDC, when they were better positioned to have done that in the past or even prevent the conundrum from exacerbating this far? “Lead us not to temptation” is always a wiser prayer in politics than “deliver us from evil”. Professor Atta Mills and the NDC leadership had spurned numerous chances and time offered them to restore peace and harmony in the NDC. The acts and omissions of some party leaders and government officials clearly pointed to a well-orchestrated political agenda to intimidate, humiliate and vilify the former first couple and as well impugn their credibility and relevance in the NDC. They demonized the iconic figure in the party whose individual efforts and instrumentality won President Mills and his “saints” the power that has now clouded their consciousness like a drug and has caused them to rubbish the cardinal principles of conviction, probity and accountability. President Mills and his “boot lickers” obviously misconstrued the insistence of Mr. Rawlings on the need to respect these values on whose back the NDC rode to power.to mean the latter courted sympathy and garnered support for the presidential ambitions of his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings...

Boakye, Djan, every informed Ghanaian (you are not one of them, btw) knows led the initial opposition to the PNDC, when Kufuor and his PFP had given it their blessing and were represented on the PNDC. Unfortunately, he turned it into an anti-Ewe crusade by Akans which served to alienate practically all Ewes and non-Akans opposed to the PNDC. Do some research in the defunct "African Now" magazine and see for yourself. I was in Nigeria then, where he used to operate from. In spite of all this, when fate brought us together in London under the aegis of the Nkrumaist movt., after upbraiding him for his tribalistic past, unbecoming of an Nkrumaist, we worked together. I became tired of their delusional CPP mania and withdrew from such activism. If he could forget the venom of losing his brother under the PNDC, etc., etc. and join the NDC for what it stands for, then I've to show him some respect for strength of whatever: character, principles, devotion to the nation? Or is it just mere opportunism?

BTW, Osahene speaks for himself and I speak for myself. An objective reading of what I wrote clearly shows that I didn't spare him some digs too, for his utterance and political shenanigans.

But, what I have observed in our politics is, escuse me, it looks as if even the learned did not learn how to relate with people in school. How can somebody who is seeking high office in our society write such things. My advice to those looking for favor from the prez is to go to him directly and ask him for his favor.
