DURING REGISTRATION THE JUDGES WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE DATA ON THEIR FAMILY TREE INCLUDING ALL DISTANT RELATIVES FRIENDS, BUSINESS PARTNERS, CURRENT AND PAST VISITORS TO THEIR OFFICES AND HOMES ETC ETC.   Actually the problem is that in Ghana their is no aligned thinking as to what disciplining a child is. The most effective ways to discipline a child involve explaining to the child why what they have done is wrong and then warning them that they may be punished if they repeat the action, and then to follow through if they repeat the action. If however what they have done is very bad and they know it is, punish them proportionately - do not be a sadist or psychopath, but also if yo have a kind heart do not be a wimp and let the child get off scot free. If you fail to discipline a child they can become spoilt and egotistical, but if you punish a child for stupid things too much, they can become fearful, violent or insensitive adults. The focus of punishment should always be 'how is this child harming themselves with their behaviour' and also 'how is this child harming society with their behaviour'.
  
  If a child keeps repeating their actions despite being punished, sit down with the child and discuss why they are doing it. Some children act up when they are being bullied or struggling with schoolwork. If you find that they have no good explanation, some children actually like the attention they get from their negative behaviour. In which case I have found that it is very effective with Ghanaian children to do the naughty step, where you make them sit in a corner for five/ten minutes without anything to do, and then you explain why their actions are wrong afterwards. The boredom and isolation of this action is something they are keen to avoid.
  
  Also, praise and reward your children when they achieve something, or do an act of kindness. It will encourage them to repeat their good behaviour in future.
  
  In all honesty I have seen some terrible parenting in Ghana, when the products of bad parenting grow up to be awful adults I am often surprised that the parents or guardians are themselves surprised. What you put into the child is what grows out of them.

  The right of the child as defined under the UN charter looks at child up bringing through the prism of western culture.The right of the child means you must have the child’s consent when it come to matters relating to his or her welfare.It does like you must have the children's consent to discipline.It now virtually difficult to have control over children these days because of the so called child fights.I suspect it is a western agenda to westernize our children as part of their grand design at adulterating our culture.We have a culture that is different from the west and we must be allowed to bring up our children withing the acceptable boundaries of our culture.This deception and adulteration of our culture had gone on for far too long and it is high time we stop this deception and re- define our cultural approach to child up bringing as is being done in Asia.The western children are rotten morally to a point where their parents are afraid of them.No wonder America had rejected the child right nonsense.

  Since we spend lots of time at school with children more than we spend with them at home, we've got to immerse them in some form of moral education, discussing issues of right and wrong.
  Many parents nowadays don't have time or make time to talk to their children about issues of right and wrong. Grown ups felt obliged in admonishing wayward children.
  
  Significant others also engaged in constant "afutuo" laced with story telling and proverbs.
  Now we spend time watching mind numbing videos instead.

  This is true, it was the stories and proverbs that would really sink into how I saw the world as a child. Some based in folklore, some from the Bible and some from the experience of my elders. However many modern Ghanaian parents shove their children in front of the tv. Television has been proven to be detrimental to childhood development, especially if it replaces time spent with the family.

We don't need paper laws to protect our chn. Parents need good salaries just about a third of what is given to MP and ministers to ensure their chn's success. Have you seen the number of children selling sachet water in the streets of Accra?
