Being a muslim does not mean you have to drop all your names, even your last name. I undestand taking a first name that is arabic, but taking a first and last arabic name is not a good idea.

in many west african muslim communities, they have forgotten the name of God in their local languages. ask a Bambara what the name of God is in Bambara and they would say ALLAH. They dont remember the name in their language.

It is very disturbing to observe the indoctrination that has blinded many and shut them from being truly critical beyond religious postering. When the Saudi king was very very ill, he and others knew where to go for care: America. But when African Muslims, the very rich and powerful ones, are very ill, they go to-- and you know where-- Saudi Arabia. The deceased Nigerian president, Yaradua is the perfect example.

Some of the very best and most qualified doctors in America are Nigerians, Ghanaians and other Africans, but these religious indoctrinated people cannot use their wealth and power to build the best hospitals, universities and schools in their home countries and get those qualified people to used them for the good of their fellow countrymen, children, and the next generation?

No amount of prayers and supplication nor pilgrimages by Muslims and Christians will develop African countries, Ghana included. Is Ethiopia not a Christian nation even older than Italy, the Vatican and other European nations? Ethiopia became a Christian nation before Italy. Ethiopians even claim to have the arch of the covenant and they people pray and observe the Christian tradition to the letter and earlier a thousand years ago,even saved persecuted followers of Mohammed from Madina before Islam came into real being, but remain underdeveloped.

Ghanaians should wake up and think clearly about the next generation instead of all this craziness about foreign religions, rituals, and pilgrimages and invest in true worthwhile personal, their children's and national development for the better of the country and Africa.
