He speaks broken Fante just like most Ashantis who attended Adisadel. When he was campaigning to lead the NPP in 2008, he asked Fantes in Central Region to support him because he was the only half-Fante-half-Ashanti in the race. This infuriated the Fantes because he hardly identifies himself as such.

The word in the grapevine is that the Fante speaking people of Central and Western regions are quietly waiting for the NPP to vote for Kyeremateng and teach him a lesson as they did to their own uncle, Attah.

Attah was taught a lesson by his people because when he was VP to JJ, his close relative died in Cape Coast and lot of people, especially those looking for favors from government, donated heavily to him. Attah, the Asomdweehene, in turn, donated the money to orphanages in Accra and not a penny to Ankaful mental and leprosarium in his own backyard.

The word in Cape Coast is that let the NPP nominate Kyeremateng for 2016 and they will show him why the capital was moved to Accra and if he loses Central, he will lose Western.

Well said Bishop Bettle. It's about time this party comes face to face with the reality that, Ghanaians are seeing them as they are—tribalists. Last December, a few days after the election results were verified by the electoral commission, I made a similar comment when the NPP refused to accept the national electoral results as fair. It is sad that a party in this day and age in Ghana, is behaving as if they are still living in the past without realising that, most reasonable Ghanaians who are aware that a party that promotes tribal genocide, cannot truly be a national party representing the welfare of the country, but only their tribal groups. The election results also showed that apart from the Ashanti and Eastern Regions, the NPP did not win in any other region. That means, this party only won in two out of the ten regions of the country, indicating that, they are not a national party. Yet, they want to dispute the election results because Akufo Addo believes that he is by right, to be the president of the country. He has failed to get the message that, he lost two elections for the presidency in two election years proving that he is not recognised by Ghanaians as a true national leader. However, Ghanaians themselves apart from the tribalists, must accept blame for creating this type of image in the mind of Akufo Addo and his party as if they have the right to rule the country. Why? The simple answer is, Ghanaians have allowed themselves to become slaves to this tribal group which imposed Twi on all Ghanaians as a national language. The fact is, Ghana does not have a national language and, for that reason, Twi cannot be imposed on the country as a national language without a national consensus through the ballot or dialogue. Unfortunately, there is nobody in both ruling parties to object to this one–sided imposition of Twi on the nation, which in turn, created the impression that Twi, is the national language. This sickness started from JJ's time till now when his government allowed the greetings everybody arriving at the Kotoka international airport in Accra sees, to be in Twi. Since then, no official in the subsequent governments, made any efforts to correct this erroneous impression created on visitors and Ghanaians arriving in the country with the welcome words only in Twi, which is only one of the many Ghanaian languages, but not the national language. Probably, Ghanaians have forgotten that, English is our official language of business and for that reason, instead of creating the wrong impression that all Ghanaians speak Twi, leaders of the political parties must show their courage to correct that mistaken or erroneous impression by eliminating the Twi greetings on the airport building. Ghana's national capital is Accra, not Kumasi, and if there should be a local language to welcome people to the country, why not use Ga, which is the local dialect in the capital city? After all, Kumasi is not the national capital, or would Ashantis allow Ga dialect to be posted on their airport terminal to welcome people to Kumasi. Looking at this issue from the right perspective, Ghanaians must blame themselves for their tolerance of not revolting against this attitude and subjugating themselves to Twi as the means of communication on the radio and, television for all these years. After all, the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the founder of the nation, who hailed from the Western Region, did not make any attempt to impose his Nzima language on the country as if his people are more important than any other Ghanaians. If he can do it, why can'the current leaders do the same? I believe that, the Ghanaian attitude of tolerance, has given these NPP people the impression that, the country is theirs and for that reason, they have the right to rule it even when the nation has already spoken through the ballot boxes by rejecting them. It is time for Ghanaians to wake up to their own low self–esteem by accepting the imposition of a local dialect on them for all these years without any resistance, thus creating the impression as they are the subjects of the Ashantis or the Akwapems.
