A cruise ship went down in the Pacific. Three women survived
and had swum to the safety of a typical desert island. They
been on the island for about a fortnight when, one morning,
one of the women found some drift from the wreck that had
washed ashore.

Amongst the debris was an antique brass oil lamp. She wiped
the grime from the engraved side of the lamp and suddenly,
lo and behold, the dwarf of the lamp appeared. The dwarf
granted the woman a wish, as is the tradition in these
situations. The woman wished for 10% more intelligence.

Instantly her wish was granted, her head spinning with
enlightenment she slipped into the forest, emerged that
evening having constructed a beautiful yacht from the
natural resources of the island.

On seeing this success the second woman rubbed the discarded
lamp, rubbed it and was similarly granted a wish. This woman
asked for 50% more intelligence.

Awash with insight she swept into the forest to emerge that
evening having built a aeroplane and take off strip, all
from the resources of the island.

Staggered by the escape of her companions, the third woman
took the lamp. The dwarf appeared. The woman decided to go
the whole hog and asked for the full 100% extra intelligence
The dwarf paused, taken aback by the magnitude of his new
task. Without further hesitation he summoned all his powers
and granted the wish. The woman awoke a few minutes later

False prophetic war against our vulnerable mothers, self and integrity. Gone were the days when we play like " its only a fool who will kill his/her mother when asked by friends to do so". Quiet surprise back then we knew the essence of motherhood.
I can't recall any game like "when a false prophet or chief priest asked you to kill your mother and you did so, you had eliminated a witch".
I can't imagine how we could have played that game of Valiant. But however, such is real in our lifetime and I am yet to meet one brave soul.
Though, tradition guide us to understand and adopt democracy. it is long gone and all those traditional values; ritual murder to appease the gods, banishment, slavery, etc has no place in a democratic society that encourage and enforce rule of law with principles and facts.
I cannot see in this generation x where a king or chief can ask for ritual murder in Accra circle or Kumasi Kejetia to pacify the gods.
Mention of that alone, will send both emissaries and income to our shores and you tube will have a new view breaking record surpassing gangam style.
Democracy was adopted in order to educate our primitive mind and also do away with autocratic rule(traditional/chieftaincy).
I wondering how in this gen x certain traditions still persist deep within our mist; prophecies and deities.
Jesus Christ came to show us the way and to also encourage us to love one another. This is a testament, God gave us power over everything on this earth, but little did God knew how we will use such powers against ourselves.(an eye for an eye) Hence He brought his son to show us a new way to live and it's LOVE!!
That said, my understanding cut short "PROPHECIES" and Jesus also proclaimed, there will be false prophets and we should watch out.
Hope democracy thought us the same about chief priest and our eyes were wide open.
Maybe Jesus Christ missed his democracy class in heaven and therefore forget to ask blacks to review any syllables, the Lord had sent.
Well, in sin was I conceived but however, the love my mother had for me, put her through sin and without due consideration. I was carried for nine months through toil and when my father abandoned her, she pressed on to have me see the light of the world. She did that for me, when she was young and strong to also withstand the wiles of the enemy. And when the enemies chase my trail at tender age, she stood for me, like a wild lion.
Today, my mother is so weak, humble, so vulnerable, cannot even pray like she did at her tender age; the best I can do for her is listen to my friends and be a valiant.(Kill the witch out of her).
If I do so like we did it before at child's play. Who is best to tell me I am a fool. I do not think my integrity will question any jail term.
Do not put asunder what the Lord had put together, " Jesus Christ". Abatement of crime form part of the nucleus of democracy. Who am I to pronounce jail term for those who aid and abate in crime.

The pastoral message has been of late associating itself with modern civilization so it can not be part of things of the past. Again, the pastoral traits tend to dwell on spiritual interventions and therefore, could not count on false messages.
Bad as it is the lady at this stage, must not be punished for the practice of the society at large. The court must come out with a fiat against such an outmoded custom to be backed by a declaration from the traditional authorities for its total eradication from the society.

I agree that these pastors and fetish priests should be prosecuted. They are complicit since they receive payment of some kind or other and are therefore in common purpose with the actual perpetrators of the crime.

It is very annoying to know that the pastor and fetish priest have not been arrested for their role in this unfortunate episode. What are the authorities in Ghana doing by only prosecuting this mother who was led astray by people she wrongly put her trust in them?
