Son of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Sekou Nkrumah has taken a swipe at the Herald newspaper, saying they are not serious.

This is in reference to a publication in today’s edition of the Herald newspaper headlined: “NPP Leaders Are Useless - Sekou Charges”.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Sekou Nkrumah said it is unprofessional for the newspaper to pick a sentence of what ‘somebody’ has written on his facebook page and make a story out of it.

According to him, the Herald newspaper misquoted him.

The multi-million dollar question i always ask is, If you ever catch a thief stealing or who has stolen your most valuable possession, will you let him go scot free without retrieving the said property?' Sekou, my problem with you is that these people who once called themselves United Party-UP,then later Progress Party-PP, then they metamorphosed into Popular Front Party-PFP,then came the National Patriotic Party - NPP. You see they connived against your father to drive him away for the following reasons:
1. He was not a royal from any well known family.
2. They used him to organize the youth then they decided to let himm off.
3. They were really not interested in independence for Ghana but,they wanted to be employed as government officials side by side with the European colonisers.
4. Unfortunately your father Kwame Nkrumah was not ready to share in the last idea for being part of the elitists club.
So they planned to "deal with him". One day when your father returned from break, they searched through his bag which looked very much like a file folder and found a copy of the communist manifesto in it. That was the ground for them to choose to sack him from the UGCC.
If you knew how much they bastardise your father; stating that he was a kru from liberia, he was a parentless child who was found and adopted. In fact just as Kuffuour was declared a winner of the 2000 elections Nana Akufo-Addo published an article in the Daily Graphic justifying the coup that overthrew your father. That explains why some of us thought something might have been wrong with you phsychologically for standing behind Nana Ado. You don't know them well. Well take your time delve into the archives and you would discover how dangerous their existence as a political party is to the stability of Ghana. If you listen to them you would not do anything. They seem to know it all ,unfortunately they are just empty timbrels. All they think about is to see how much of State money they can siphon into their pockets. They don't like to work as governmement employees because they are never ready to make any sacrifice on behalf of the State.The only government employment they want is being in parliament, or minister of State or Head of State.Ghanaians whom yourlater father sent on studies abroad some into the Eastern block, they frustrated the graduates from the East into their graves. Some ended-up in the psychiatric hospital. Do you know that people were shot to death on their orders for being seen in possession of your fathers books? Have you Sekou ever asked yourself why there are no books of your father on the shelves of our libraries? Because of these people whom today you are having political intercourse with. They are shrewed and dangerous.In fact anyone who associates with them I take a distance from. So how come you Nkrumah's son would dare think they are angels. Be careful for they can even hatch a plan for your extermination, right now because they are people if you are not a royal you dare not reprimand.Better put on yur thinking cup and let your father's souls rest in peace!!!

I said this in a submission I made on my Facebook in December last year, when I was commenting on Dr. Wreko Brobbe's statement. Many known friends who are strong NPP supporters including my own wife were unhappy with me. But I said, truth is one and just say it and be free. People always want to hear what they want to hear. That is human. But I am saying this again, for those who want the party move forward, should listen to advices from people like Dr. Seiku Nkrumah, Dr. Wreko Brobbe and positive thinking individuals. The Party did a poor job during the elections and lost. They should sit back and strategically plan, otherwise, they will be in a serious political trouble. NPP is setting a very bad precedence in our contemporary politics, which may destroy its future for years. Earlier they end this losing legal battle. Ghanaians are smart politically and people should not just think they can throw dust into their eyes and get away with it. Thank you for reading this comment.

Once this issue is before the Supreme Court Of Ghana, let us patiently wait for the deliberations which may be in favour of the ruling party or the NPP. I believe this is a test case for our democracy which has now grown an Odum tree tall. While other nations around us had tried to achieve this same goal through Wars, we as a civilized nation are going through it as stated by our beloved constitution. Whether jugement will be in favour of either parties, let us remember they will be in the books for future generations as how the wise men/women of Law at our time decisioned it. Amen
