  This is stupidity to the highest order. A country like Ghana with 25 million people has 29 Ministries apart from the regional Ministers and we still have institutions not under any of these Ministries? We are going to have two deputy Ministers for each of these Ministries and we can't place these institutions under the Ministries?
  
  These so called agencies are going to have five to eight member commissions who are going to draw salaries and we still need Ministers at the Presidency to manage these agencies?
  
  Mahamar just want to create jobs for his Northern brothers.

How do Sulley Gariba belittle our intelligence by claiming they are the coe the governance in Ghana? eg cant the Ghana Aids Commission be placed under the ministry of health? we live to see, but Sulley Gariba should not forget that those people are going to be paid from the consolidated funds which both the 50.7% (who voted for ndc) and the 47%(who voted against the ndc) have a say because the consolidated fund is not the same as NDC fund.

  what i just said in my main response to the article - why do we have the ministers and the ministries then? his argument seems plausible on the surface, but critically analyzing the institutions and structures, it simply doesn't make sense! it's just like the executive secretary and the secretary to the president! by the way, we wait to see the evidence in court so i use the statistics so judiciously; 50% of the population voted against the ndc!

  at one point we claim there is so much waste. at another time we justify the waste. if the president wants his eyes every where then i think there are more than the 51 so called core institutions.
  
  and just listen to him SADA. you were the same person they appointed as whatever to SADA. till date what has been the outcome.
  
  master don't come and poison the atmosphere. just stay there and chop your post.

Those institutions have heads and we should cut costs.We have been shouting at Kuffour/Rawlings and now it is same.Can someone explain better what they actually do at the presidency?I didnt do Government in School so maybe i lack knowledge.
  As for those shouting TRIBALISM,NEPOTISM or whatever...SM,i dont get it because,all those people appointed are GHANAIANS to begin with and lets gather all the Ministers and divide the number by 2 and see how many of them come from UE/UW/NR. You will see that it is not the case at all.It has only become noticeable because these people were ignored for a long time,as some presidents would not see ANY QUALIFIED PERSON there(of course they are there). Besides most of the ministers MUST COME FROM PARLIAMENT.Which part of the country provided more MPs for the NDC??It is therefore statistically plausible if tmany of these come from the selected MPs and therefore people from those areas. I am still waiting to see these critics talk about ABILITY of these nominees and not their ORIGIN/TRIBE. We are in the 21st century.

Greater Accra gave Accra 31 MP'S, Volta region, 25 or 26 if you count the Independent candidate who is Ndc, how many ministers did the two region get when more than 50% of all Mahamar appointees have come from the three regions with a combined population less than Greater Accra ? There are more people living in Ashanti region than the three regions combined.

  The assumption being these Mahama Six will play the role of inspectors of the inspectors of the 51 institutions to see to their effective and efficient management of the 51 institutions assisting in their organization, direction, planning, monitoring and evaluation.
  
  If that's the case, then the Six Mahama Ministers should be vetted for their writing skills, people skills, managerial skills and ICT skills.

  As one of the very few people abroad who had a genuine belief in Mahamma and was never swayed by NPP propaganda; my concern about his appointments has become an issue.
  
  I've been the lone ranger all this time amongst a pack of NPP wolves that seem to think that anyone with any form of letters to their name musn't touch the NDC with a barge pole. But I did; I defended, fought back and did everything I had to do to spread the word. I'm not even an NDC member but I did what I had to do because of my belief.
  
  Now look! the brazen Mahama, just 2 days into his presidency seem to think only people from his northern manor can help him rule Ghana.
  
  Would someone pull this guy over and impart some wisdom in him? Mahama could even have employed these lot all the same but in a smart way which would not reflect so badly on his presidency at such an early stage.
  
  As for me, Mahama has failed my test.
  
  You kicked off with an inner circle of 4: 3 northerners and one ewe, and followed it up with a top loaded set of same for cabinet positions.

  the mahama's 'alhaji' government. as usual they always want life at the expense of others even though they do not deserve it. mahama should go on and appoint literally every person from his home regions and ethnic extract into the government. that wouldn't change change anything about them. usurpers!
