We already know how Ghana's election had been proclaimed worldwide as one that was free and fair. All stake holders who sent congratulatory messages to Mahama did their homeowrk by sending or relying on some representatives who monitored the elction. When you fall you don't remain on the groung or floor you must get up. You are still on the floor. You must know Ghanaians always want to be on the winning side. If you don't drag this into 2015, I bet a dog will not vote for you. Patch up whatever division there is within you and make that bold decision of withdrawing the petition from the court.

Are you referring to the conditional conglatulatory messages from pockets of world leaders? The last time I checked, Pres. Obama reminded Mahama of the pending court case against himself and the EC after his message, the latter being just a protocol anyway.

The Supreme Court WILL set a precedent against rigging of election. If NPP is able to prove even a SINGLE vote was rigged, Mahama will be asked to step down to send a message that RIGGING, (even if it's just ONE vote affected) is NOT acceptable. On the other hand, if NPP could not prove that the election was rigged, the message will be clear that the Supreme Court will not entertain false accusation as per elections. That is, if there was no rigging don't manufacture one because the SC will not allow it.

I hope FACTS, The LAW, LOGIC and WISDOM will come into play when the judges sit on the case. The SC should either bury incubent rigging of election finally, or stop unsubtantiated challenges to election, whichever is the fact.

Initially, they did not place any blame on the NDC, they blamed EC for irregularities. They later pulled NDC in as having rigged the election in conivance with the EC. It took them the entire grace period to file a petition, a petition of irregularities which could also implicate them as culprits. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands! So says a maxim of equity. There are just too many laws along the way that I simply don't see NPP winning. Their frustration would deepen hence my humble appeal for them to withdraw and stand as a strong opposition in the country. Following this case would let NDC have a fields day because NPP would pull back and say we do not recognize Mahama. Who suffers? Ghana of course.

In the 2004 elections the NDC challenged the election results at the supreme court. Mills and Rawlings boycotted the inauguration of President Kufuor. Victor smith then announced they wouldn`t even watch it on TV.NDC even boycotted the state of the nation address by President Kufuor in 2007. Needless to mention the numerous times when they boycotted parliament as well.

Prior to the elections in 2008 Mills warned that the NDC would not entertain any attempt by the NPP to steal the verdict of the people again.He warned the nation to expect mayhem if the party suspects the results of the December polls were rigged in favour of the NPP. He threatened to turn Ghana into Kenya if elections were rigged in favour of the NPP.

I dont see, what is wrong with NPP following the legal means to address their grievances. I dont see, why NDC is talking nonesense like the NPP is disgracing the President. If they know they have legitimacy of the people, why should this process lead to a disgrace? It should rather enhance the image of President Mahama, when it comes out that he won on his own merit. Instead of talking substance to the issue, they are coming up with wild and baseless accusations. If its a disgrace to the President, then its an admission, that the integrity of our election is questionable and if anything should come out, that the Preisdent and EC stole the election, then it would be a disgrace to the President.

Even a first semester law student learns, there are different solutions, it only matters how you can best argue and explain with reference to the respective laws. Remember laws are based on general statements, which must then be applied to a specific case. Why do you think different courts and different judges come to different conclusions? Otherwise being a lawyer would be an easy job and there would be no need to object to any given verdict.

How is it that Tsatsu Tsikata is appearing as lead counsel for the NDC when he has been convicted of a serious criminal offence and has been jailed.
Following his conviction he should have been disbarred from the Ghanaian bar as being in breach of his oath as a lawyer and in breach of the Bar's professional code of conduct.
The fact that he was subsequently pardoned of his offence by President Kuffour does not mean his conviction was quashed - a point that Tsikata made at the time. He declared he would not accept the pardon but fight on through the Court system to clear his name.

There appears to be no record of a case in the Supreme Court quashing, once and for all, his original conviction.

So it appears he remains convicted of a criminal offence and should not therefore be practising as a lawyer.

The irony is that he is now appearing as lead counsel in a case before the very court that refused to quash his conviction ie The Suprenme Court.

You played urself into the case ,cuz if he had sued ndc and the president initially ,u wud have played a different card and removed urselves from the case , allowing urself a chance later to force for a review or claimed it didnt affect or knowing how devious u are , created a loophole . Now ur stuck in there and if it goes against u , ur name will forever be tarnished. No chance or review this is the end .
