THE FALL OF AN OVERAMBITIOUS PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE--KAPWEPWE AKUFFO ADDO

Main opposition NPP stalwart Charles Wereko Brobbey says there must be an overhaul in the leadership of the party.

Dr Wereko Brobbey who has described as illogical, nonsensical and farcical, the party’s decision to boycott the Buem and Aktasi South by-elections says the old generation of the NPP must give way to the younger generation to take over the leadership mantle.

The NPP is currently challenging the 2012 election results at the Supreme Court.

It also intends challenging the results of 38 other constituencies.

The leadership says Buem and Akatsi South are among the results intended to be challenged and so finds its defeatist contesting the two by-elections.

Dr. Wereko Brobbey however argues that the party must as well boycott Parliament entirely and also stay away from the vetting of ministerial nominees per its arguments against participating in the by-election.

Please, serous critiques, let us go back to Rawlings civilian government and let us do the counting. People from the Volta region were more than those from any region. Rawlings spokespersons said those appointed were qualified to do the job, period.

Let us come to Kufuor government. Can anybody tell me that people from other regions other than Ashanti region were more in that government for the two sessions? Why are we forgetting the common and accepted adage that: "Charity Begins At Home"? If there is a better and qualified Northern politician, why should Mahama appoint an equally Ashanti politician who will come and sabbotage his government?

When Dr. Hilla Liman appointed Ashantis and others more than his own people, what happened to him internally? The Okuchere Bekui and the rest started giving Liman hell until until the security of his government became some porous, giving way to Kojo Tsikata and Rawlings to stage their own coup.

People are hearing and reading strange names as ministers for the first time. Let us clap for Mahama. From the beginning of political self-government, i.e. from Kwame Nkrumah right down to Mahama, this is the time we are seeing about 10 Zongo and or Northern names coming up as ministers of state. Allow them, if they can deliver.

One thing, the Northerners are more HONEST, more HARD WORKING, and more DEDICATED than the Ashanti politician. People from the Volta region are the same as the Northerners. They are moderate and patriotic people.

People should stop making those disturbing and tribalistic noises; and let sleeping dogs lie their heads on pillows.

As for me, my problem is the walls of the Osu Castle , the seat of the government. The defunct PWD of Ghana may have to lobby the cola nut chewers at the Castle, to increase their budget to paint the walls of the Castle for their indiscriminate cola residue spitting galore. Every Ghanaian must get ready to carry his own PAN LATRINE as soon as the new law is passed to stop people of Northern Ghanaian decent from carrying their shit. May be John "Maama" may give out interest free loans to construct WC'S throughout the country. Even our Supreme Court has as many as 13 Judges and sometimes even 15 for a country of some 23 million people, while continental and complex FEDERAL America (USA), with as many as 350 million people in 50 states, has only 9 Supreme Court Judges—for the past 2 centuries.

He gave the national assets acquired by GNPC to the chairman of the NPP who went to Texas and bartered it for 3.5% shares for himself and Kufour and 5% for the nation of Ghana. When the US authorities investigated the issue, it was decided that the chairman of the NPP was not a member of the government hence they could not come up with a charge of fraud. The shares were sold for $350 million and was divided among the CO group and Kufour. Kufour can now say he stole the money fair and square. No prosecution but that does not mean he did not steal the assets of the nation.

Most Ghanaians do have English first name, few may having others but in most cases the surnames are Ghanaian names indicating where people stem from. In the few cases where people have both names in english people cannot be identfied by their names. Nevertheless, all Ghanaians have an identity.
