  This appears to be a classic example of where people with no experience at board level are appointed to serve as trustees or board of directors of the state institutions. I cannot believe that the board of trustees of approved to rescue the ailing STC without first insisting on radical restructuring and shake up of the management and the Board of the STC.
  In a situation like this it would be expected of STC to prepare strategic and operations plans to show their ability to turn around the company. These plans should inform the Trustees of SSNIT whether or not rescuing STC is a viable investment.
  It is too late now to consider restructuring. The horses have bolted

  It is very sad that persons (professionals) with the requisite skills and experience(no party affiliation or 'connections') are not headhunted to do the job. I can turn this company round within 12-18 months. Why has the company been left to accummulate that much debt. There should have a stop somewhere long ago.
  Plans are underway to rivive our National airline. I am just watching.

How can you go to the market to buy a horse without telling your son who is a horse groomer? That is the major set back that stroke STC 12yrs ago. Do the MATH.
  Simple procurement practices were ignored and that added to the STC-Cancer. Over to u Joe Lartey.

  2.SOME LONG ROUTES TO WA,TAMALE,KUMASI,TAKORADI,ABIDJAN,LOME
  SHOULD GO VIA KOTOKA AIRPORT TO ENCOURAGE THE USAGE OF STC BUSES ON ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TO ENHANCE SEAMLESS MODE OF TRANSPORT.
  3.STC SHOULD HAVE A MODERN BUSINESS WEB SITE PAGE WITH ALL THE TIME TABLE INFORMATIONS FOR DEPARTURE AND ARRIVAL,ROUTES AND FARES,SERVICES PROVIDED AND MANY MORE CAN EASILY BE ACCESSIBLE ANY WHERE ON THE NET AND RESERVATION DONE TICKET PURCHASED ..
  4.STC SHOULD ALSO CAN PUT UP A MODERN
  CAR PARK FOR LONG AND SHORT TERM CAR OWNERS SINCE A LOT OF MOTORISTS WOULD WANT TO PARK THEIR CARS AND FLY IN ACCRA
  5.WHY CANT STC WITH THEIR VAST LAND SEEK AN INVESTOR AND PUT UP A THREE
  STAR HOTEL TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE ROOMS FOR MOST PASSENGERS WHO MIGHT ARRIVE LATE OR EARLY ,BREAK THEIR JOURNEY IN ACCRA.
  6.STC MAIN AND OTHER STATIONS MUST BE RENOVATED TO HAVE MODERN TRANSPORT FACILITIES SUCH AS TOILETS,ELECTRONIC INFORMATION ,AUTO TICKET MACHINES,BAYS,AND MANY MORE.

  It looks like SSNIT has become the PERENNIAL ROYAL DUMPING GROUND for all sorts of DREADFULLY BAD 'INVESTMENTS' and 'ASSETS'; deals that go to profit some conniving and devious companies and individuals at the expense of SSNIT contributors.
  
  SSNIT's own annual reports show some DISTURBINGLY UNIMPRESSIVE AND DOWNRIGHT DISMAL RETURNS from 'INVESTMENTS'. These terrible results would, in more accountable environments, cause their entire board, leadership, and heads of investment departments to be fired, replaced, and sanctioned for sleeping on the job (while collecting SITTING ALLOWANCES), and for overseeing such a disgraceful mess. Even the sachet water sellers on the streets of Accra do better than SSNIT in terms of returns on investment.
  
  Worse, all this mismanagement at SSNIT is made with EASY MONEY – compulsory retirement contributions paid by workers of Ghana. Thank goodness we now have a three-tier system to give workers some additional options. We have seen how badly SSNIT has managed those retirement contributions for too long. We have watched in amazement at those MISERLY AND MEASLY amounts that they pay out to retirees upon retirement. And that is not to mention the harassment and hassle that SOME SSNIT WORKERS give the poor retired workers who have slaved for such a pittance. Yes, it is common knowledge that SOME SSNIT employees, in addition to their wonderful pay and cushy allowances, ROUTINELY DEMAND AND COLLECT BRIBES from poor retirees --- when it comes time to process and pay retirees their HARD EARNED retirement money.
  
  Multiple levels of robbery: Quietly Institutionalized Robbery. Shame. Shame. Shame.
