George Grant(an NZEMA), a wealthy timber merchant with his close associates - J.B. Danquah, Awoonor-Williams and R.S. Blay mooted the idea of forming a political party. Other leading members were J. W. de Graft Johnson, E. A. W. Ofori Atta, Kobina Kessie and John siboe - proprietor of the Ashanti Pioneer. Kwame Nkrumah was later invited (upon the recommendations of Ako Adjei) from the United Kingdom to be its full time secretary.

Outgoing Central Regional Minister, Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe, has expressed strong faith in the leadership of the NDC for selecting Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, to lead the ruling party’s legal team in fighting the petition filed by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Supreme Court over the alleged election rigging by the EC and NDC.

According to her, the NPP had always feared and kowtowed to the arguments of Mr. Tsikata due to his comprehensive understanding of the law.

The 'caretaker' Central Regional Minister claimed that Mr. Tsikata had always landed a hefty blow to the NPP anytime they encountered him in court.

In an interview with Okay FM, she added that; “most of the NPP lawyers were trained by Tsatsu. He is very intelligent and can quote the laws well without making mistakes. He knows when to use the right quotations and the NPP is doomed in court this time round”.

She noted that it was shameful for the NPP to flare up when they truly know that they were defeated in the just ended elections.

“They have reached their end point and the electoral defeat has brought bruises on their face. It is out of that they are trying to act tough”, Madam Benyiwa Doe stated.

Vetting is part of the duties of MPs. If the NPP MPs are not ready to do their job, then they should resign or forego their salaries. It will be hypocritical to refuse to work but draw a salary.

Vetting is part of the duties of MPs. If the NPP MPs are not ready to do their job, then they should resign or forego their salaries. It will be hypocritical to refuse to work but draw a salary.

Is it a surprise that the owner of the Daily Guide Newspaper - a man who went to parliament on a CPP ticket, but, in fact, an NPP in disguise - is supporting the boycott of the ministerial vetting by the NPP? He is obliged to say what he has said. He cannot say anything else! He is being honest to his Party. In case, if any one doubts it, he or she should read Blay's Newspaper. It does not take a crystal ball to read his Newspaper to see that he is an NPP man through and through! But, for the quick and smart realisation of some CPP youngsters, he and Paa Nduom, jointly, would have sold the CPP to the NPP. A 'chameleon' like that who cares if he supports the boycott of the vetting of Prez. Mahama's ministerial appointees by the NPP. In fact, the NPP will be welcomed, if it boycotts the entire four year- parliamentary sittings as its forerunner, the UP, which Blay's uncle was a non-parliamentary member, did during Nkrumah's administration in the 60's which, culminated in advent of a one-party government in Ghana's socio-political system by Dr. Nkrumah that enabled his administration to develop the country and its global standing to the level we all bear witness to.
