Our moral values is not anti-homosexuality. And homosexuality was practised in Sodom and Gomorrah well before God gave Moses his Ten Commandments. If it was that serious God, why did HE not address it but rather commanded against the very things or acts common with this particular NDC Government, and Hannah Tetteh, namely:

Thou shall not Steal - who steal more than NDC Politician?

Thou shall not commit adultery
who sleeps with married men more than hannah tetteh (suspected as a closet girlfriend of adulterous John Mahama)

On the issue of human rights as enshrined in the 1998 (UK Human Rights Act ) even though this act gives the right to individuals to enjoy the private family life (and it should not be any different in Ghana) the issue of sexual orientation should not come into public domain as is strictly a private matter.

Homo sexuality and lesbianism are abominable and should not be given any national platform because left to them the world would be extinct in a few decades.

And if these don't work they will come at you directly in any form or fashion. They may even drag to Hague and the UN. Did you see Obama's stance soon after the British commissioner's comments and developing stories? Who pressured Obama to come right away and pass that comment?
What is your leverage to fight and also convince the very people you are fighting to grant visas easily.
You got a big fight and you will need to marshall a lot of support from the gov't and the citizenry on this stand. You need to utilize education.

The thirsty customer asks, "Why Timex?" The fella proudly replies, "Cause it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin!" A little shaken, the customer turns to the fella on his right, who is sipping a fruity Margarita and says, "So, what do you call your penis?" The man turns to him and proudly exclaims, "FORD, because 'Quality is Job 1.' " Then he adds, "Have you driven a Ford, lately?"

Even more shaken, the customer has to think for a moment before he comes up with a name for his penis. Finally, he turns to the bartender and exclaims, "The name of my penis is 'Secret.' Now give me my beer." The bartender begins to pour the customer a beer, but with a puzzled look asks, "Why secret?" The customer says, "Because it's STRONG ENOUGH FOR A MAN, BUT MADE FOR A WOMAN!"

She is just playing to the gallery which will ultimately impact negatively on the country. Some may believe that by pretending something does not exist, it will fade away. In reality, homosexuality has been part of human interaction since the creation so by sounding high and mighty will not make it disappear. When she talks about the nation's dignity as laws in the country are rooted in " our culture and religion" she is "conveniently forgetting that there are perhaps people within the legislature-the supreme law making body of the country,in traditional authority-custodians of our culture as well as within the top echelon of religions whose sexual orientation is at tangent to what she is espousing. Even if they are, so what. What a person does behind locked doors is nobody's business.

A public official is first and foremost expected to seek the general welfare of the people before his/her interest.Madam Tetteh is only seeking to impress and advance her aspirations, and should be seen as deficient on the integrity continuum. As Gyeke Darko, the erstwhile Director of National Prosecutions used to put it eloquently those long gone days when prosecuting a trial of treason, "...he has gambled and having lost must forfeit his life", but in the case of Madam Tetteh, she must forfeit the opportunity so must not entrusted with such important position.

What I am trying to understand is, should she be confirmed in the ministerial position, her duties will undoubtedly involve meeting her counterparts from other countries on regular basis, ironically, more frequently those from countries that have given the nod to homosexuality because, these are the countries that have greater influence on world affairs. What will she do in such situations. Would her sense of morality not be offended in such instances?

It is commonly believed the need of the majority takes precedence over that of the individual. If she really cares she should champion the cause on the thorny sexual orientation issue so that the aid which will ultimately be lost with her moralization continues to flow so that the the dirt poor who can never benefit from the luxury of a ministerial position and its trappings will continue to benefit from the benevolence of donor countries.

You advocate or those on the fence are missing the point. Of course no sin is bigger than the other but the question is who advocating to the legalization of the sins you mentioned? Aren't they brought to light and prosecuted? So going by your own statement if all sins are the same and the rest are punished with the goal of eradicating them or minimizing them, why should this be treated different and legalized? I hope you don't mind when your children or grands are LGBT but if you will be concerned you better work against it now b'cos that's what going happen in the future and your descendants will be glad how your stance impacted their woes and calamities.
The other issue here is IDENTITY. Are we Ghanaians and for that matter African/ Arabs got our self IDENTITY or we are still vulnerable of being defined by others? That is why the Arabs are fighting the West so much. The other visitor, who was the Lord, stayed behind. He revealed to Abraham that he was going to destroy the cities because of the evil ways of their people. Abraham, a special friend of the Lord, began to bargain with God to spare the cities if there were righteous people in them.
