Is it strange for the culpit and the father of the victim to bear the same name, more so when Abubakar is a very very common name among muslims.

It is structures for parenting that is failing in our homes, and some careless and unfortunate young men are being made scapegoats.
Is it not possible that this girl went there or had been going there on her own volition and only claimed to be lured to save her skin?. Is it not also possible that she rather threw herself at the young man. Even if we assumed she was lured, is she not aware of what could happen when she enters a man's room alone?. What kind of sex education was given her by her parents?
Not until society starts holding parents and the parents starts holding themselves and their daughters responsible for the moral behaviour of the teenagers, defilement will always be in the news.
I think the young man at 18years is as vulnerable in taking control of his emotions as the girl considering the fact that girls develop emotionally faster than boys, not to mention what kind of sex education was given him by his parents.
