I'm surprised to hear him say that foreigners are not allowed to do it when in fact, foreigners are those actually permitted to do it. News of such activities is reported daily. Shame onto Ghana! Even in Accra, foreigners notably cHinese and nIgerians have taken over retail-trading completely. Nigerians in particular have now invaded Ghana through Christ and banking. God bless Ghana!

In America where the economy depends upon private sector participation registration of businesses take as long as ten to fifteen minutes at city hall counters. And licenses cost as less as between fiteen and twenty five dollars. Imagine how many Ghana can register per day to bring to the tax paying process. We must act wise and kind to ourselves in order to succeed as a nation.

The solution is not just the denial of foreign criminals the access to our solid metal mines in remote areas alone but also to equally deny the corrupt native individuals who illegally sell their concessions to illegal solid metal miners whose sole intention in the country is to carry on destroying our lands with the help of corrupt local chiefs and confused land owners. Galamsey in all forms is a menace to the country - it does not matter who practises it native or Chinese criminals and it is about time some sensible decisions got taken to ban it altogether.
