It looks like we end up sacrificing some defense when we are more aggresive offensively and when we play compact, we have trouble scoring. We can get away with this for now but we have to get a middle ground here. Gyan is not better than Drogba by the way. Gyan can only score when fed the ball on the run. Otherwise, his shots tend to lack power and when he tries to use power he is off target. The most important thing is that Adomah and Atsu played well. Ultimately, I think that those two are critically important to our chances in the knock out rounds.

Teams like Cape Verde can play defensive game and counter attack or play you to a draw and eliminate you on penalties. When was the last time Ghana won a game on penalty shootouts? They have very good Players like Mendes and others.

We have to keep our foot on the trottle with a killer instinct we applied in the Niger game. The one goal project should be a thing of the past.

Gyan tries an ambitious long range effort, but Daouda is able to pat the ball down and collect it easily. 21? Yellow Card Issiaka Koudize 20? Despite the early controversy, the game has settled down a little bit. Neither side is dominating, but Niger really are struggling to break down Ghana when going forward. 18? Fatoukouma tries an outrageous long range effort rather than crossing the ball to his awaiting teammates. That was a bizarre decision. 17? Atsu turns his marker brilliantly, and Niger look scared of the pace of the winger. This Ghana midfield definitely have the potential to dominate, however they've not really monopolised possession yet. 15? Niger only really seem to have one plan so far, and that's to launch the ball forward to Maazou! 14? Badu is found in the penalty area by Adomah, but a great Niger interception prevents the forward from getting a shot at goal. Ghana then work the ball down the left, but fail to put in a delivery. 12? A bright start to the game so far! Plenty of incidents, and Niger will feel aggrieved that they aren't level. Ghana haven't quite got going yet! 10? Ghana have a freekick in a great area, but Niger deal with the cross effectively, although Daouda was stuck in no man's land, totally dependent on his defenders! 9? A GOAL HAS BEEN RULED OUT! Maazou challenged Dauda for a ball in flight, that's a bad decision! The goalkeeper clashed with his own man seemingly! Maazou turns it into an unguarded net, but it won't count! 8? Maazou bombs forward for Niger, bursts into the Ghana penalty area, however he miscontrols the ball and it escapes him. Unfortunate. 7? That's a very important goal for Ghana, now they can afford to concede once, but still progress to the next round. This leaves Niger with a lot to do to go through! 6? Assist Albert Adomah 6? Goal Asamoah Gyan
GOALLL! Asamoah Gyan fires home to put Ghana ahead! Great finish, as he powers it into the bottom corner, before partaking in a group celebration! 4? A slow start at Nelson Mandela Bay stadium, nothing in comparison to the other Group B match! Asamoah, meanwhile, beats his man with a nice Cruyff turn to win a free kick in a decent area. 2? Gyan got busy.

He wasn't picking up the ball from behind defenders.

He met balls headlong and made do with through accurate distributions
to fellow drivers upfront.

He was seen falling back and forth the field's mid-section handling the ball speedily to the goal line.
