I believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law but I don't believe or suscribe to the school of thought(lessness) that God appoints presidents.Ghana is a democratic republic not a theocracy.When the Israelites requested Samuel to give them a king to rule over them like the heathen nations around them it displeased Samuel and he enquired of the Lord.In answer the Lord said to Samuel : "Hearken unto the people in all that they say unto thee : for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them."(1 Samuel 8:7 ) In our political system it's the people , not God, who vote to elect their political leaders, including a president.As with the people, so are the priests and their elected president and leaders.God has no hand in the leaders we choose to rule over us even in a free and fair undisputed election. When the people of a corrupt and wicked nation vote and choose a corrupt, immoral and visionless man as their president the entire nation suffers. We should stop legitimizing the illegitimate and deluding ourselves that God is our kingmaker. If He was , Ghana , with its abundant natural and human resources would have seen a great transformation and great development into a paradise on the earth. By the way is He the same God who chooses presidents in the developed world and in the third world ? If the answer is yes then that god must be partial.When will fools stop fooling themselves and others ? When the people choose mediocrity that's what they get. Don't put it on God. God did not choose Nkrumah,Akyeampong, Busiah, Limann, Rawlings, Mills, Mahama,Khadaffy, Mobutu Sese Seko, Idi Amin, Abacha,Eyadema, Adolf Hitler , Mussolini, Joseph Stalin,etc, etc. All these men came to power either through the muzzle of the rifle or the ballot box or some other unapproved method. God has never, is and will never be responsible for our choices.If we do good we do for ourselves.
