Facts:

Over 50% of childern born in the US are currently born out of wedlock.

Marriage is at an all time low in the Western world.

The divorce rate is wickedly astronomical

All the Homom enclaves in the US are also the of the most STD's including HIV

Currently Washington DC, NY, San Francisco, and Atlanta Georgia, home to most homosexuals also have the highest rate of HIV and other STD's in the US.

The highest HIV rate now is among mostly young Gay men in the US.

Even the US with all its resources is struggling to deal with these problems. What about Ghana with no resources? How is it going to deal with the after effects of these menace?

We need to be careful of what we copyin the name of modernity and democracy.

We have more pressing issues than legalizing or acceptiing homo life style as a normal practice.

Could you truthfully say you don’t have a single overweight person in your family? I’ll bet my last cent you do have one... (ofie bia Mensah wo mu). My query is would you ever look at that family person and call her/him a fat bitch or whatever adjective that might tickle your pea sized brain at the time? There’s a saying that says, “IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO SAY, DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL”.

The main thing the woman is saying is that, as long as the laws of the land does not frown on the practice of gays, then by law, these citizens should be protected and enjoy every rights the constitution of the land bequeath on it people.

Morally, it might not be customary and frown upon culturally but I for my part will not shoot someone because they are gay but will categorically shoot an armed robber who will want to take away my right as a citizen to live in peace and the right to protect my life and property. Can we please be a little circumspect and treat everyone as equal until such a time that homosexuality will be entrenched in our laws as an illicit act.

(1) Whoever has unnatural carnal knowledge -

(a) of any person of the age of sixteen years or over without his consent shall be guilty of a first degree felony and shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term of not less than five years and not more than twenty-five years; or

(b) of any person of sixteen years or over with his consent is guilty of a misdemeanour; or

(c) of any animal is guilty of a misdemeanour.

(2) Unnatural carnal knowledge is sexual intercourse with a person in an unnatural manner or with an animal (12 Jan. 1961).

although the Criminal Code does not expressly prohibit sexual relations between same-sex individuals, "it states that such action is 'unnatural' and when caught, you will be sentenced to imprisonment.

Some sources report that homosexuality is "criminalized" in Ghana i.e. the federal foreign office (Germany) states that; "the promotion of homosexual acts may be punishable with imprisonment up to three years."

In other words, what the commandment of God is teaching us to do is to love. Don't forget the famous "Let the man with no sin cast the first stone". We have been talking about gay issue as if all the other sins in the country has been curbed. Everything God frowns is on the ascendency in Ghana but no one is talking about them except gay issue. My comment does not mean I support gays. That's a big NO and am not one either but I believe just as our pastors preach about keeping God's command and living a sinless life which we totally forget right after the sermon and start our normal life, so should we talk about the dangers of it but if one chooses to continue to practice it then you leave that person to God. He is the ultimate judge. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God and as such we don't have any right to judge anyone. The Mighty One alone judges.

Society cannot pick and choose whose human rights have to be respected and protected. Homosexuals are also part of the human family and while we have the right to condemn their lifestyles, we do not have the right to deny them their human rights.

Therefore, the fact that Minister-designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection has in the past advocated for Gays and Lesbians should be an asset instead of hinderance for her confirmation. For she has demonstrated that she believes in respecting and protecting tthe human rights of every citizen.

How can people in their rightful senses indulge in homosexuality when many girls are still singles and many men are still bachelors? If the right tool is not used for the right job, chaos prevail, So if the male sex organ is not paired with the female sex organ, then such ailments like AIDS galore take over the population! Homosexuality definitely promotes the spread of aids, which results in an infringement on other people's rights to life. For that matter, homosexuality is an evil thing that must never be encouraged among sane society.
One last thing, in the Western world where homosexuality is promoted, they have the resources to help control aids and other resultant diseases. In a country like Ghana where the common APC is hard to come by, why should we try to encourage a practice that is bound to drain so much on our scanty resources? If ever a coup should visit our shores any day, I would suggest all homosexuals and their sympathisers should be made to face the same fate as the six Army officers just over 30 years ago. Homosexuality is evil. Only mad people promote the practice!!

She comes off as being highly disingenuous the way she couched her principles. She can never get my vote of confidence. I'd have respected her stance, no matter what it was, and given her my vote, if only she stood up for what she believed in and her background indicated she was competent and accomplished.
