Ibrahim Sunday ( Nigerian Father) however played for the Black Stars because he was good. " Sunday here, Sunday there , and Sunday everywhere", Joe Lartey used to say. On a similar account, Amexo, after he was turned down by Ghana, played for Togo in a game in 1972, in which Ghana lost to Togo at the Accra Sports Stadium. In that game Robert Mensah was in our goal and Tony Sylvester was in goal for Togo. The Togolese goal was scored by Kaolo who died six months later in motor-cycle crash. On that day, Ibrahim Sunday failed to score a penalty. Whilst he run to take penalty, he fell down at least once. No bribbery was involved.

There were other players who played in Ghana as well as Nigeria at the club level such as Ollenu, Lawal..... There was no bribbery scandals associated with any of these.

As a Ghanaian in diaspora where life seemed sometimes borring, I took this oppotunity to glue my eyes to my giant 106 centimetre television set throughout the whole proceedings where nothing escaped my eagle eyes till the last whistle.The first personal goal by Asamoah Gyan was great followed by Atsu and the 3rd goal by the other boy was also wonderful.
