  The Minister's explanation cut no ice. No one is disputing that the new ministry being created is bad. What is bad is that the President has been insensitive in appointing Oye Lithur as the head of it; she is not the right person because of her stance on homosexuality. She has vowed to defend it. But it's abominable in our society. It's immoral; it has disastrous knock-on effect on life; it will breed bisexuality in a heterosexual society such as Ghana's; in societies where homosexuality is openly practised, HIV is prevalent; it's practice is a drain on a country's resources, etc. Other people in our society can do the job as well.
