Is this Rau man really a human rights activist? If yes, then he is either ignorant about the role of the International Court of Justice or he has no idea about International Human Rights Law.

First and foremost, President Kufuor has immunity from prosecution for his actions and omissions whilst he was in office as long as those actions and omission were related to his duties as President of the Republic of Ghana. Though his immunity could be lifted, it is not that easy and could be done for only very good reasons such as serious human rights abuses like genocide.

Again, the matter complained of did not occur in Ghana but outside Ghana, where then President Kufuor did not have any responsibility for. So for what reason is this man sending President Kufuor to the International Court of Justice?

The same applies to Nana Akufo Addo. Even if the two state officials at that time were found to have been negligent, the International Court of Justice is not the right place to go. The family of the victims could pursue a civil claim against them in Ghana. That is even not possible because the two still enjoy immunity from prosecution as stated above.

This Rau man is not only seeking a publicity stunt but also ridiculing Ghana before the International Community. For whatever reason/s he embarked on this frivolous and vexatious action, he is a disgrace to human rights activists. His is either confused or misguided.
