I believe this "convincing" has already been done to fruition via the Diaspora Vote Committee (DVC) effort in 2005, which I was proud to initiate, and which resulted in the signing into law by President J A Kufuor on 24th February 2006.

Today Ghanaians in the diaspora can officially vote. It is the law of our land. Thus the "convincing" must be geared towards the law's implementation.

It beggers belief that Mahama is asking you to "convince" his government on voting rights for Ghanaians in diaspora. It appears to me that it is the NDC party that errorneously believes that majority of Ghanaians in diaspora are NPP sympathisers, hence their stance on this issue! Evidently, this group (Ghanaians in diaspora) are an enlightened lot (generally) and will vote on issues rather than being partisan. If one has nothing to hide but has the interest of Mother Ghana at heart, in mind and in deed, one will have nothing to fear this group. It seems to me that those who oppose this group's input in the development effort at home (Ghana) are doing Ghana a great disservice - much like those who are raping mother Ghana dry from their looting of state resources to enrich themselves!

It is a real sadness to me to know that some politicians in Ghana are there just to amass wealth for themselves, and they care very little for the rest of the population.
We need education so we can better inform ourselves. Most of the population are being left behind.
The politician tell us we cannot afford a free SHS, but they can afford to send their ward to Europe, America, China and India for education, while our children peddle the streets of Accra, and can not afford a three square meals daily.
What kind of progress have we in Ghana? We can even process our own cocoa, we have to send the dry beans to Europe and they return the finish goods in the form of chocolate bar for us to buy at a higher price.
Well the cocoa is only an example, we can talk of gold, timber, oil and on and on.

The NPP did not convince the court, hence, the reason to throw away their petition for the PINK slips. They could not convince the judge due to lack of competency on their part as the so called intellectuals of the Ghana Bar Association. What an impairement my friend. Dr. Dannaa who is visually impaired understands the word convince to the fullest and that is what he is going to use in expediting his duties as a minister for chieftancy matters.

The ROPAL which was tabled by the Kufour govt and passed by parliament is the law that does not discriminate but makes it possible for all Ghanaians in the diaspora regardless of how they got there, provided they are Ghana passport holders, to be registered and allowed to vote.

What John Mahama & his partner in crime Afari Gyan did in the 2012 elections was selectivity to favour his NDC. What he intends to do in future is no different.

The ROPAL is there. it has to be implemented to the letter.

The Ghanaian diaspora has done a lot and continue to do so to help the country's economy. Why the bloody hell do we deny them the right to vote? Do we discriminate against the foreign cash they pour into our economy?

An NPP govt will put an end to this partisanship & discrimination nonsense and ensure that all Ghanaians are giving the chance to vote in the country's elections.

What will be lost if these disporans eager to assist come home to do what the want to do? Take the example of Chinery Hesse of SofTRIBE. He came home and started a software company which is helping the country, generating revenue and emplying Ghanaians.

Truly, Diasporans should convince all Ghanaians why they need representation in the affairs of the country if they are not ready to live in Ghana.

Sure we should press government to give us the vote where eligible and that is where it should be left.
