THIS IS WHAT ASHANTI NPP AND ASANTEHENE MUST BE FIGHTING TO ERADICATE INSTEAD OF PRIMITIVELY LITIGATING.Residents of Kona, in the Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region, face a health risk as family of a deceased woman refuse to bury her corpse and leave it to decompose.

Relatives believe they could pay a spiritual price if they bury the body without approval from a fetish priest, who assigns spiritual reasons to the death.

Forty-five (45) year old Afua Adomah died five days ago, and her body has been left to decompose in a six-bedroom house, near the local police station.

Family members will not touch the body out of fear until rituals are performed to pacify the gods.

A river deity at Bipoa near the district capital, Agona, is believed to have struck the deceased about five months after her brother, Kofi Agyemang, consulted the oracle to establish the reason for his supposed financial problems.

Fetish priest, Yaw Gyasi’s gods are demanding Ghc 4,000 to perform rituals.

Not even an order from the Agona District Police Command could compel the family to bury their dead relative.

Residents in the town have been forced to endure the smell from the almost decomposing body, with an army of flies visiting the house.

A few daring ones entered the house in which she lay, to catch a glimpse of the remains of a mother of three lying on her side.

An aunt of the deceased, Afua Fofie, tells Nhyira News there is nothing the family could do under such circumstance.

The body had not been attended to as at 8 p.m Monday, with no sign of when it would be buried.

Meanwhile, Nana Gyasi later slaughtered two fowls at his shrine at Bipoa to pacify the gods, and to pave way for the burial. Even then, the presence of the gods had to be sought.

The gods agreed to the family’s request to perform the burial service and come later to settle the fee or face further catastrophe.

Later in an interview, Nana Gyasi blamed the family for all the inconveniences.

John Mahama thought it through to use it only because it was a waste of Tax Payers money should that Poultry Farm white elephant not used. That is the only reason and me think it's prudent decision taken by the President.

As we all know Kromfuor used such projects to grab 'soft money' and as a way of embezzlement, we haven't forgiven him and shall drag him to the highest court at approriate time.

The complex is a sheer waste of resources which would have been better used to improve the water, electricity, healthcare, sanitation and education provision for ordinary Ghanaians.

The question is how do ordinary Ghanaians benefit from that monument of grandiosity and pomposity? ex-Pres Kuffuor will be remembered for his idiocy and heartlessness in committing resources to such a project when our people were crying for basic amenities to alleviate their suffering.And this was also at a time when our railway system was and is still not functioning.

We must learn to get our priorities right.

The real lesson to learn is never again must we allow our leaders to take decisions that favour a privileged few to the detriment of the majority of our people.

They said emphatically that President Kuffour was a wasteful President having diverted money for the contruction of a presidential palace for the President. Presdient Kuffour saw it befitting that a nation like Ghana deserves a decent place for the sitting in Presdient hence he undertook the project; but NDC said it will NEVER, EVER occupy it when it comes to power. They preferred to occupy the slave dungeon which has been the seat of government since the colonial days. They described it as fit for a poultry farm; recently it was about to be converted into a cemetery when Mills died (the eleven graves that was constructed on the compound is still there). "He who digs a pit will fall in" said the Bible. I think NDC should be called the most hypocritical party ever ruled this nation and they should bow down their heads in shame for the U-turn they have now made to occupy the "poultry farm". Time will tell.

Instead of the Daily Guide and and the NPP Youth group, the Young Patriot doing their best to drum up a controversy, when non really exist, their time and in fact the whole nation's time would have been better served by calling for a new interesting name for the President Residence, the whole nation can readily agree upon.
This can be a stimulating fun thing to do, in stead of creating friction and controversy.
This can be a contest between the Youth Groups of all the political parties.

By July 1st, come up with a new original name, the significance of the name, must reflect our history, culture and core values,and why it was selected. With the winner getting 10,000 Gh Cedis. A name never to be changed again.

i love ghana so much and i have lived here close to 15 years, with all due respect i think your last president, john kufour did a good job irrespective of his corrupt allegations. i personally saw a lot of improvement on ghana's infrasture esp. roads and schools. his great policies paved way for a lot FDI to come to ghana. if you comparing the previous administration with the current one and believe me i dont support any of them am just being realist the previous did a lot good for your country. anyways it above all a good thing to allow democracy to thrive in your country and i wish ghana all the best.
