Let me educate you a little Mr Theo. Oil could be found at any depth and also Natural gas. It all depends on location and geological history of the area. Oil was first struck in Pennsylvannia USA by one one Mr Drake who was digging for a different mineral entirely and when he struck it no one knows what it was and what to do with it so people devise a means to use it to burn lanterns and all that untill scientists came in and started researching on it.Even before then some parts of the river bank of that area was reported have been oozing out that black sticky liquid and it was a mess to farmers who dont know what it was. So you see, oil or gas could be found at any depth so insinuating here that because the person did not dig deep before he struck this one means it may be sewage is not correct. Locals know sewage and will not fetch it with gallons.

If today EO group is stripped of this share, it reverts back to Kosmos and not government of Ghana because the 1.75% was given to EO group by Kosmos.

The Jubilee Field is the name given the oil field of Ghana, where first commercial oil is expected in the last quarter of this year. The Jubilee Field Unit is situated in Deepwater Tano (DT) and West Cape Three Points (WCTP) blocks, approximately 60km offshore Ghana and 130km west southwest of the port city of Takoradi.

The field area, currently under development, straddles the two blocks - WCTP and DT - where successive commercial oil discoveries were made in Mahogany-1 and Hyedua-1 exploration wells during Ghana’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary year in 2007.

After the oil discoveries, the two blocks, which were close to each other, were unitized or consolidated to ensure efficient and cost effective production of the oil from the two fields. Several other successful wells following the first two have increased the reserve estimate.

Oil reserves in the Jubilee Field are estimated to be between 800 million and 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil of the highest grade. Initial production expected from the field under the first phase is 120,000 barrels a day.

The interest holdings of the Jubilee Partners were consolidated, assuming 50% for Deepwater Tano block and 50% for the West Cape Three Points block.

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) exercised its option of taking additional paying interest of five percent (5%) in Deepwater Tano and two-and-a-half percent (2.5%) in the West Cape Three Points blocks.

Now coming to E & O I'm a bit surprised you are making such childish comments. Is through E & O that we had Kosmos to ghana and today ghana is enjoying crude oil in commercial quantities which even ndc at the time disputed it when Kufour told Ghanaians that we have finally struck oil in commercial quantities. You remember Lee Ocran the then MP for jomoro even went to parliament with a bottle of palm kernel oil to prove that kufour was deceiving Ghanaians for saying oil has been found in commercial quantities.

Now coming to the 3% that you were ignorantly talking about. It was a deal between kosmos and E&O that the former signed with the latter that once oil is found in commercial quantities they kosmos will cede a certain percentage of their own shares to E & O. In effect that 3% came out of the shares of kosmos so even if E&O had not being offered that portion it will have been reverted to kosmos and not ghana government. Ghana government did not lose anything. So Mr Kofi is high time you educate yourself on some of these basic issues to avoid miseducating people. WE as a nation must be glad that serious minded Ghanaians took such laudable initiative to bring in those investors. Let us not indulge in dirty politics .

Here in Africa people attach a lot of mystical and medicinal meanings to crude oil; such as anti-convulsion, anti-snake bite, anti-poisons & charms and even oil you can use to cast out demons and it is in very high demand among the locals who hold such believes. Just one 20 litre can of that stuff can fetch you a fortune in the local market if people believe it is original stuff. So those who are fetching it are not fools. They want to make fast money before the authorities will come and claim the place.

They can not under natural circumstances be seen with the natural eye with which we see physical things like table, cloth, watch, animals, etc. Can you see heat heat or radio waves coming into ur radio or telephone? but you can see or perceive what heat has done, pick up and answer ur phone when you are called. Yet even heat or radio waves are physical phenomenon yet you cant perceive them with your eyes. They have by nature frequencies that are beyond what your natural ehyes can perceive. You may say you can see flame but when you are using electric cooker do you see any flame? no but heat is produced which turns the metal and heating element red hot and it boils whatever you are cooking. Demons are spirit personalities that are wicked or evil in nature though not seen but you can detect their presence in a life thing or place by their manifestations in that life. there are also good spirits you cant see and are called angels and even God who owns those angels is a spirit and that is why you and I ca nt see them. they operate in the fourth dimension. The subject of discussion here now is demons and like I said their manifestations or the effects tyhey exhibit will reveal their presence in the a thing human being or place where are staying. Now that answers ur second question WHERE are they. They prefer human beings as their best place of abode. One human being may have up to 12 legions of evil spirits! A legion is 1000. The degree of their manifestation depends also on their nature and population in that body or thing can also live in trees, certain animals such as pigs and even in a house and that is why you here of haunted houses or forests. All mad men or women u see walking about are possessed with these spirits in extremely high numbers. They live in normal human beings too but to a small population or number. They live in the water as well and those who live there constitute the water spirits you hear of. some live in rocks. Read the bible where Jesus cast out evil spirit from one mad man and they entered into pigs. So by their manifestation in any human life you will see that they are not there for good they are there for destruction, bad luck, sickness, errant behaviours you see in a lot of people are demon controlled such as drug addiction, excessive sexual urge, querrelsome temperaments and all that. You did not ask this one but let me include it and that is what can make a person vulnerable to their attacks, infestaton or possession? 1. Ancestral linkeage. 2. Wrong exposure to sex. 3. Paying money to native doctors and inquiring about your future from them 4. exposure to magic and charms, sin of blood shed such as abortion, etc, incest, exposure to wrong religion, etc. 5. Principally not being born again has made you an ideal candidate. It is only the seal of God on you as a xtian. They were once beautiful & obedient angels of God who were with him in Heaven but in the cause of time time, Satan who was then called Lucifer who was chief choirmaster of the angels of God convinced 1/3 of these loving angels to rebel with him against God so God chased them out of heaven. There is one thing I want you to understand and that is; God created all these angels and man as well as free moral agents who have the capacity to take decisions on what they want to do whether good or bad. You & I and angels have have the power of choice! God did not make us robots to control, No! He gave us will power to do what we wish. But remember there is a consequence of every action we choose to carry out. Just like Ghana judiciary is there and the law is there if you choose to go against u know what will happen. Read Romans Chapter 1. It was Satan that came to tempt man against what God had told him about the consequence of choosing to disobey God. What I said above is the origin of demons. They only had power over man and began to interfer in the affairs of man (Read Genesis Chapter 6)not out of God's will and design but out of man's disobedience and fallen estate or standing with God but cheer up the good news (Isaiah Chapter 53)is that God has made a way of escape and that way is Jesus Christ (John Chapter 14 v6). He sent him here to come and die an atoning death for man's sins and deliver him from affictions of demons that today if any man could repent of his/her sins and accept or acknowledge that Jesus is your deliverer or savior from those sins the person has committed, then the person will be saved. Demons possessing and harassing the individual will leave the person's life and affairs. Then depending on he inidividual's level of involvement he could be formerly subjected to the ministry of deliverance just like Jesus said some demons require prayer and fasting before they will go. Let what am saying not be an offence to you. You could in a forum like this find someone who could tell you life's truth that will change ur life. So now with this little explanation I have rendered here you can see that the loving God did not originally create demons & he should not not be blamed rather both Satan & man by their own choice decided to disobey God and are today reaping the consequences. But man's own situation is hopeful because it is redeemable through Jesus Christ while Satan is eternally damned and waiting for the day of his final judgement. All human beings as well who will reject God's offer of salvation through Jesus Christ will also suffer the same fate with Satan and demons on the day of judgement. What will take people to hell fire on the last day is not because they sinned (because all men are born sinners) but because when they learnt that God has offered them salvation by repentance from their sins and accepting Jesus Christ refuse to subscribe to it.

Why do you think, when the government announced that they would set up land courts in each regional capital, they pointed out that those courts have no authority over any lands which fall under the jurisdiction of Asanteman? How come even the chief of Asuyeboa could prevent government from road construction in his area? This is just a mere Kumasi chief, not even an Omanhene. Why does the government have to request for land, if they want to carry out any project? Why did a state institution such as Knust have to go into negotiations with my family relations in order to be given a parcel of land for the construction of the first technology park at Adako-Jachie? Why didnt they just go and put up whatever they want, if all the land is for the government? There are many areas which contain minerals such as gold beneath, why does the government not overtake those lands? As for Obuasi, the area is not under one single chief. The place belongs to several chiefs, who went into agreement with government.

But in the USA, such land use laws that says that anything below the ground belongs to the state does not exist. If it is in the US now that owner of land is rich for life because he has the right to lease that land to an oil company to extra the petroleum and pay him whatever they agree directly while he himself will now pay royalty to the state.

This is NOT offshore discovery so there should be a way of compensating the land owners and those within the communities who will be affected by the production of this oil. Let us be aware that the way we handle this issue will determine the future of more oil or other minerals find onshore. The Volta Basin we all know is full of so many mineral resources and very soon more of these will be discovered in individual homes. If one knows he will not benefit from the state in terms of compensation, one would find another way of exploiting these resources without the knowledge of the state. Thank you
