It seems homosexuals are trying to shove their agenda in everybody's throat . They've become a powerful force in the western world. They'll help anyone get elected in political office as long as you support their agenda. Dare to say anything against their lifestyle, that'll be the end of your career. These are the same group of people who speaks out against being bullied but yet, intimidates anyone who stands firm in what the bible says about homosexuality. To them, the bible's view is irrelevant.

President Mills started his term with the strong wind of Ghanaian good will behind his sails. He has through a wanton display of lack of judgement and character squandered virtually all the good will that he inherited following the death of President Mills. They say political leaders do not lose elections in one day. They rather lose elections bit by bit over a period of time.President Mahama has probably set the stage to lose the 2016 elections. He has just scored a massive own goal the consequences of which will be difficult to reverse. He has now handed his opponents a hefty club with which to beat him. Make no mistake about it Mahama's opponents and enemies will use this weapon time and again with devastating consequences. The president is now perceived as a man who allows himself to be influenced by foreigners who hold values and morals that are alien to that held by the vast majority of Ghanaians. President Mahama's fitness to rule Ghana is now questionable and his ability to hold to power beyond 2016 is greatly in doubt. Is the president so blind that he did not note the incredible way Ghanaians ralied round President Mills when he stood his ground aginst the pro-gay onsluaght from Britain's Prime minister David Cameron and Barack Obama? For the first time in ourr history we witnessed Ghanaians from all walks of life and from all political persuasion uniting solidly in their opposition to the pro-gay agenda. It is this vociferous opposition expressed by Ghanaians that makes me fear for President Mahama's future.

Let the Fools keep displaying their ignorant, we the people of this nation, shall remain vigilant and defend what our core values depict right from our land of birth,so as to see the development of our dear nation.
Let those who believe in evil things, make money the evil way say connected to the devil, but one thing they have to remmember is not to involve the entire nation , for Ghana is a nation of God that is why Gold is berried underneath of our soil. Because Ghana remains faithful to our lord , that is why oil is oozing out of every where, so that we shall never want.
Let those evil people deal, stay with their blood money for God would always be on our side. We shall never bow down to any of this evil doings.
Women are our opposite partners, and we shall remain faithful to them. Men shall always have, experience and expressed our great desire to women not to Men.
How ugly shall it be to see to men exchanging love in bed?
What a toboo, what a mess? Oh God pour down death on these people pour down great deseas on these evil men and women, give them an incurable deseas forever so that they may know that is not how you made life to be.
May our lord Jesus, be with us all who stand strong and despite this nonesence for ever Amen.

There should be no room for that lifestyle in Ghana, we shall not accept its legalization. I am very much disappointed by Mahama on this one just as much as I am appaled by his appointment of a blind man to represent chieftaincy affairs. If our tradition excludes the blind from becoming a chief, how on earth can one be their spokesman?
However, I totally disagree with your assertion that the election was stolen. He won eoght out of ten regions please. A good article marred by an outrageous accusation. If you want to talk about homosexuality, please stick with that and leave out an election that the whole world judged as the best ever in Africa. I guess you are for the short guy, right? you may have gotten your facts right but your interpretations are well off the mark as in geopolitics and the world today there are no secrets that can remain hidden for too long . Today whether we like it or not the world is divided into 3 spheres of influence or civilizations based on religion , Christianity , Islam and Buddhism/ Confucianism , With that in mind most of what is going on is very clear except to the blind who do not wish to see. Imperialism based on monarchism as a form of governance or world order has given way to democracy due to the fact that the one and only superpower of the world the USA prefers it so . We as Africans can not dream to participate fully in any world events as long as our borders we drawn by others who ensure we shall never develop or be able to afford our people a decent standard of living fit for the 21st century instead of this pre industrial 19th century Purgatory we now live in . our leaders have always flirted with the caliphate or far eastern philosophies which further push us into the vicious circle of staying confused about what to do. Whether or not we like it the minimal freedom we enjoy is not guaranteed by the islamists or chinese rather out so called arch enemy imperialists NATO or better put the american civil rights movement . Mills was killed because of the chinese and now mahama will also see an untimely end because of the Iranian/Turkish/ Malasian caliphate alliance he has willfully pushed us into as this islamists have always wished to dominate Africa . in the 60's all the way till quite recently they have used the palestinian question to hold us to ransom . our brothers by the ay never gave us the oil billions we needed to develop rather they gave it to the americans and europeans . instead they taught their people that we need to be kept only as slaves . Mills was wise and dropped them quickly but pepeni mahama runs to them to pay his dues in gold to reaffirm the commitment of his alajih tribesmen to their cause but we shall chop off his head true Akan style when the time comes . long live the Republic of Akan

THE SIGNIFYING GAY MONKEY…
Your piece is not only hypocritical but insidious. The Western world engagement with Africa had been one of abused from the era of slave trade (African young males were raped from the African shores right through onto the plantations) to the contemporary. The notion of so-called HUMAN RIGHTS was conceptually an impossibility to be conceived by the Europeans then during the SLAVE TRADE. We are still experiencing its effect 600 hundred years ago. The universalization of cultural practices of so-called superior race (Aryan) Whites has been a construct for which the lesser human race according to your standpoint must subscribe, however subtle is it coated (aid, food, loans for liberalization of homosexuality in Africa),with human rights as cardinal reason.
Homosexuality is a European cultural practices and since its practiced by human beings, any human being under enabling conditions can become susceptible it. Many Africans see the posturing of the West in relation to homosexuality as an attempt to impose this abnormal practice on us or least adopt a liberal attitude which in time will be accepted or tolerated. Your India example is instructive. Africa has its own negative cultural practices, and homosexuality is not one of them, at least not one of the originals. Perhaps there is context of counter-HUMAN-rights, which clearly is missing in the imposition of homosexuality in Africa even if it’s virtual debate. The right to not be the other is missing. Africans have the right not to be your other.
Homosexuality has its origins in Greece, the epicenter of the so-called European civilization. When Greeks went to ancient Egypt (Africa) to study they were informed of the cardinal African principle that defines our world MALE & FEMALE, principle that must be in balance. Nowhere was homosexuality encouraged. That is not to infer that the Ancient Africans were unaware of possibility of this abnormal sexual condition (from an African perspective and by no means a universal one). Indeed the West with all its scientific development has refused to conduct research into homosexuality to ascertain whether it’s hormonal or otherwise imbalance. You may draw the conclusion.
In Greece homosexual love for boys was not only aristocratic phenomenon but popular, in 507 BCE, democracy was introduced in Athens there was increase of pederasty and other homosexual representations, it became more popular.
It should be added that for Plato, the only type of real love is the love between two men, and he has dedicated two of his dialogues to that subject: the Symposium and the Phaedrus. After all, homo-erotic love is related to education and gaining knowledge and this makes it superior to other types of love. In 399 BCE, Socrates was executed on a charge of corrupting the Athenian youth. There was no Athenian law that said that people who taught bad ideas to young people ought to be killed. Socrates cannot have been guilty of breaking any written law. The "corruption of the youth" as a sexual corruption: they took literally Socrates' metaphor that he loved boys, and this was indeed breaking the old law of 450 (above) that forbade young citizens to sell themselves. (male prostitution not consenting adults gay men), Socrates was held responsible for inducing boys to prostitution and WAS EXECUTED!
´The fact that local propagandists can plausibly suggest that the president of a West African country is in the hands of gay lobbyists reflects a changing world. ´
It does not suggest nor reflect a changing world! IT AFFIRMS IT! West African (African) presidents know where power lies, having failed to realize that in unity lies strength. America’s superpower statue was predicated on being a United States of America. Millions died in American civil War, including sons and daughters of Africa. The truth is that African Presidents with all the pomp and pageantry are helpless. We know the score and what time it is.
´ I hope that President Mahama will seize this occasion to take a leadership role in the region on L.G.B.T. rights. ´
This was out of the bag , all this whiles, now you have made it clearer. Your assertion typifies, Western/European arrogance, in much the same way as the early European missionaries to Africa to covert us into the true God. Come see how confused we now! Some of us don’t know whether we are worshipping God, You or Jesus. !
It not surprising therefore that many:” The fact that so many people from his country wrote to me when the scandal broke indicates that many are thinking through these issues. And: One said, “I am tired of this humiliation and embarrassment. I don’t know whether I am a gay. I am not a living being. I have tried to pretend to be what they wanted. I need your word of advice and help. Sorry to say I feel like committing suicide. My tears are dropping so badly that I have to end my e-mail here.”
Many Africans committed suicide than be captured by European and their African collaborates into slavery. It’s not a new phenomenon. Suicide.
Only that we have more of economic gays/Lesbos, in Africa, than so called born gays!! A hungry Ghanaian young man/ woman with no hope of any future, no jobs! and easy access to internet (50 cent any hour) is a WILLING GAY/LESBAIN than ANGRY!
The poverty degrades. The failure of our political leadership makes possible the
Softening of moral fabric of the youth and culture terrain. We are suffering from AQUIRED IMMUNE DEFICIENY SYDROME, (AIDS) of which you, as gay activist may be too familiar with! Ofcourse you well appreciate the pun or the point being made. There is an inter-connectedness between African/ Ghanaian economic gays and poverty.
The West must respect the right of other cultures to be what they are and NOT assert its cultural sexual preference under the pretext of human rights. Were there nuclear weapons in Iran after the carnage and pain inflicted on innocent lives? Africa at this point is weak and as the African proverb goes ”if your hand is in someone’s mouth, you don’t hit on his head”.
Africa is weak and saddle with bankrupt leadership, lacking the vision and courage to lift us from our abject poverty. YOU NEED NOT WORRY, all you need is time, for Africa in this condition cannot defend itself culturally or otherwise. SHE IS LIKE A WOMAN BEING RAPED BY OUTSIDERS AS WELL AS HER OWN SONS AND MAY I ADD DAUGHTERS.
Her own sons and daughters are more of an asset to your cause than YOURSELF.

One day there will be equal rights in GH, it may take years yet, (plus 1 day because of the ignorant writing of a Mr. Adafo), but no one can stop human rights for everone.....so I`m confidential. A pity that some persons are absolutely unable to understand that everyone has a right to do whatever with whoever as long as both persons agree on free will, and the acting is not harming anyone else. And gay-acting is not harming straight-acting, all what is needed is to respect eachother peoples sexual orientation, even it may be different from the own "taste". Gays are also not complaining about straight persons sex, so more tolerance, please!

To the writer:
You say you don't care about the opinions of people abroad, fair enough. What you should care about, though, is telling the truth in your article. Checking the validity of one's arguments to justify certain beliefs is crucial, I would say anyone would agree on that. Therefore a few comments from a European point of view (although I do live in West Africa):
"Do you want your son, daughter, brother, sister, mother, father, family member or friend to be infected by homosexuality with its attendant HIV/Aids and stigma?"
--> the stigma is a direct result of society's intolerance. The exact argument was used by racists in Europe/US against marriage between blacks and whites. Think about it, this kind of thinking is a vicious circle: You dont want anyone to be gay because it will cause them trouble by people thinking exactly the way you do. As for HIV/AIDS: it is NOT limited to gays. In fact the fastest growing number of newly infected are heterosexual young girls. high HIV rates among gays is a result of their lives that forcibly takes place underground, "on the down low". How on earth would you have a "normal" relationship if you're gay, if you would face rejection by everybody? This is why there is a lot of anonymous, secret sex among gays in certain places, which is of course risky. Lack of education on the topic etc. is another issue here of course. The anti-gay views expressed will not solve this problem, it will only make it worse.
"However, Ghana says without mincing words, NO TO HOMOSEXUALITY. IT IS AN ANATHEMA, UNNATURAL AND DISGRACEFUL."
--> Your argument of homosexuality going against nature is too easy to be refuted. You can just Google and read the science behind it. It occurs all over nature, in so many different species of animals. Why on earth would anyone, in a homophobic society like Ghana, Uganda, Saudi Arabia etc, choose to be gay and face all that rejection? Think about it, it doesn't make sense whatsoever.
Therefore, my dear Ghanaians, I plead to you. Don't listen to everything your Pastors etc say. They do have an Agenda on their own. Think independently, educate yourselves before rejecting your neighbors, friends and family members for being different. I love your country and its people, but I have never, anywhere in the world experienced so much hate against gays, neither such an intense obsession with this topic, as in Ghana.
Peace out everyone, live and let live.
There is no way Ghana will officialise gay rights. To hell with the supporters of homosexuality in Ghana.
I however object to this author accusing our President-where is the proof that Solomon gave him 20000? And as much as I dont support homosexuality, how many of you can truthfully say that you would not accept bread to feed yo ...
