If a 10% tax if you accept the value put on by the shipper is 6.2 million dollars tax lost to the country because these thieves might have taken one million dollars bribe

  As an individual licensed buyer, you can buy froom small-medium producers (including galamsey operators) and end up with this quantity in less than two weeks.
  
  The long and short of it is that it's not difficult for a licensed buyer to buy 1.5 tonnes of gold in Ghana.

  One document is dated 7th january 2013 for a flight taking of on Decemeber 31, 2012. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the document was questionable. But the greedy and unscrupulous airport staff let the items pass through. Shame!

Vice Presidenting doesn't mean that you can also Preasident over a country. I don't believe that Mahama reflects the choice of most Ghanaians.

  Fellow Ghanaians, This revelation about the Ghana's Gold locked up in a plane in Turkey shows clearly our vulnerability as a country to protect our resources. Nobody is preventing any Ghanaian from holding gold resources but this must be properly accounted for as part of the country’s wealth.
  What has happened to the inspection and oversight responsibility of the Minerals Commission?
  What is happening to the PMMC which previously was declaring the amount of gold it bought from the public domain?
  What is parliament and other advocates doing to enrich our laws based on new knowledge instead of encouraging partisan activities amongst technocrats and top civil servants thereby shirking their responsibilities
  The Minerals commission must stop hounding the established mines and focus on protecting our entire mineral asset. There are enough laws and policies currently which if enforced can give Ghana good success.
  Our chiefs and parliament and government appointees must stop paying lip service to foreigners and illegal miners raping our ecosystem.
  During the period leading to the elections you could hear surprisingly candidate after candidate promising to help the Galamseyers degrade our forest in search of Gold. What a Shame.
  Ghanaians should not doubt where the 1.5t of Gold came from. It is coming from the Gala say activities.
  SOLUTION
  1. All Gold found in Ghana must be sold to the PMMC who must establish offices in every district. There are enough Metallurgists coming out of our tertiary institutions without jobs. This should be a presidential special initiative.
  This can create immediately over 600 jobs for our graduates
