I wished Akwesi Appiah will be retained as the Black Stars Coach as he has been there and trying such position for a long time however his first performance has left too much loopholes and his weaknesses.

It seems he lacks vision as in this time and age, everyone can play football.

Examining the encounter with Burkina Faso, Akwesi Appiah's Selection of Lilliputians were in no doubt a weakness. They were outplayed by the 'Burkinabees' tall, robust but talented team.

Then another problem with Akwesi Appiah is his long standing problem with Peles. I think this also affected his selection as the Ghanaian team midfield was as porous as anything to think of.

Akwesi Appiah has also got no exposure as can seen when in our first league he donned something looking like tarpaulin sown into a jacket with a gargantuan tie tied around his neck in temperatures rising up 45k.

But in spite of his flaws, I wished he would be retain as everyone has a bad day or moment. He should be allowed to settled with time to learn.

Maybe it is time to look at our food and nutritional intake as a nation. A well-fed body, from infancy, produces players with the physique to meet the demands of 21 century soccer.

All superior soccer nations have programs that trains and produces players. Do we have any such structures in place? We can not wait to rely on pure chances and accidents to have one or two exceptional players popping up on the soccer scene and be satisfied with that.

At best, this approach only gurantee failure, and that is exactly what is happening.

GFA is to be blamed. Parliament is to have an inquest into this and get to the bottom of this disgraceful failure. We cannot go on this roallercoaster as a nation so far as football is concerned. coach you can't win with this inexperience players,you have to mix them with the experience ones and your selection was poor. you should have played the 4-4-2 system with 2 strikers instead of the 4-5-1 system you have been playing in the whole AFCON, which was not giving us goals. we were only helped by the referee's who were favouring us with penalties. bring back the more experience players back in the team for the new comers to learn from them. you made some changes in today's game against mali, after changing astu you should have brought a striker for us to put more pressure on their defense. if you want to be a good coach put your private differences with some people aside and work as a proffessional man, separate both of them. a word to a wise is enough.

And untill the Government or the authorities recognize that sustained soccer successes can ony come from a well organize development program that trains and produces quality players, we will continue to wallow in this constant and persistent disappointments. Ghana soccer is not ready for Big League soccer.
How do we expect to win anything with this crop of mediocre players. No Coach can win anything with average players. It is time for introspection, and a time to admit that we do not have world class players to win tournaments.

When was the last time we won the African Nation's trophy? 1982.

1. You need a non-corrupt FA that has vision, ambition and resources (infrastructure and logistics). Cutting edge technology should be incorporated into current football research and findings applied to tactics.

2. You need a qualified, charismatic, visionary and ingenious coach who can mold even average players into a winning team. The coach must apply a style of play that works for the PHYSICAL attributes of the players. There are approximately 7 known styles of play: Continental, Italian, British, Spanish, etc The players play different styles in their clubs so having a standard style will unite their play.

3. You need dedicated, talented and cooperative players who are motivated and willing to play in honor of their country.

4. Excellent local players should be featured as much as those abroad. By so doing the quality of local players will improve and they will compete for places in call-ups.

5. Junior level divisions should be developed and funded as much as the upper division levels.

For example, Kwesi Appiah dropped Andre ‘Dede’ Ayew from Black Star's squad because Ayew failed to report to a training camp in Abu Dhabi for a hamstring injury to be assessed by Ghana’s medical team. Andre did not report on time because his doctor was treating and therefore did not meet the deadline for reporting that was why Kwasi Appiah dropped him.

Nice job Coach Kwasi Appiah for the poor work done. Kwasi you where once a player and you know at times you can not dropped some key players from the team and if you don't know you are now learning it the hard way. What a disgrace that you have cause us.

The problem I believe is that Appiah is not well trained and qualified enough. We should learn to ut the horse before the cart. Spend some money training future coaches.

Flaw Number 2 is our dependence on Asamoah Gyan as striker. Asamoah Gyan is an aged man as far as football is concerned. That is why he is not competitive. In fact he himself is afraid of holding onto the ball because he does not trust his energy level.
Our flaw number 3 is our psyche or mind set-up. The way we believe praying, singing of gospel songs and being very spiritual can help us win football matches is disgraceful. If God has any influence in who wins a football match at all, He will ensure the better team wins.
4thly, by courtesy of our dancing captain Asamoah Gyan, we spent so much time and energy learning how to dance in celebration of a goal rather than concentrate on playing the next match. The result is that, our players are not psychologically prepared to play even though one can see they are eager to win.
Finally, the conditioning of the team was very bad. In all the matches Ghana has played, we were out-muscled.
No matter how good you are (say, like Christian Atsu) if you lack strength, stamina and speed, you can achieve little. Even size is of little advantage without these qualities.
Now that AFCON 2013 is over for us, it is a good opportunity to honestly admit the obvious. Drop players particularly the local players like and some others and re-assemble the team under a new captain in readiness for the world cup qualifiers.

It's okay to dream of winning the Cup once more; we should stop bragging about our past achievements and focus on how to rise up, and start playing constructive football; the kind of modern game that could bring possitive results. Our staly of play has becom obsolete or "colo" without player initiative and imagination.

Coach Kwasi Appiah should do well to entroll in an European or South American, or Brazilian football college to learn about new coaching tactics or strategy. From what we've seen, even before our match with Cape Verde Island our we have no place in the WC-2014, in Brazil.

We hope that GFA would sit up and find solutions to our team and performance.
