  I am ignorant of their labor rights but according to the article ..."They (dismissed workers) numbering 24 said they are demanding to be paid fully for the years of dedicated service they have rendered to the company and have asked the NLC look into the matter as this is clearly an infringement on their labour rights"
  
  I am wondering if they never received salaries when they were working for the past nine years???

  For all you know, most of these workers have been CASUAL employees for all these years. Management breaks them for a while, recall them and continue working; so their assertion that they have worked for 3, 4, 5 years may not ...

  For all you know, most of these workers have been CASUAL employees for all these years. Management breaks them for a while, recall them and continue working; so their assertion that they have worked for 3, 4, 5 years may not be continuous. That is how these local employers treat most workers.

  This is completely a new form of modern slavery. What does the labour laws of the land says in terms of work termination? Definitely it should not be an outrageous pea-nut of a mouth pay for "trouble" workers as the unethical disrespectful manager, Mr. Adjare Danquah would want us to believe.
  
  The Workers Trade Union must be seen defending the rights of our hard working people at all times and stop the tendencies of exploiting local bourgeois who feed fat with their families on our vulnerable human resources.
