You are right: THE BIBLE IS ALL YOU NEED. However, if you refer to the many self-made Pastors and Prophets in Nigeria and Ghana, why do you exclude Rev. Wengham?

According to Rev. Wengham, the Bible which dictates the manner in which Christians are to live their lives, says in Corinthians 14:3 that a prophecy must come to edify, council (sic) and extort; hence the criteria we must judge every prophecy.

"If a prophecy comes to create panic and fear, per the scripture, it can't be God's", says Rev Wengham.

I think Rev. Wengham quotes the Bible selectively. Should prophecy convey only good tidings to be considered as coming from God? Now read this.

Isaiah 38:1, 2, 4 & 5: King James Version:

v.1.In those days was Hezekiah (King of Judah)sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shall die, and not live.

v.2. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord.

v.4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,

v. 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

I do not want the President to die. My point is that a prophecy should not be condemned simply because it conveys bad news. I do not think that Rev Wengham would condemn the Prophet Isaiah as a fake prophet because he carried the news of Hezekiah's imminent death.

If you quote the Bible out of context, you can make it say whatever you want it to say.Those who have ears hear.

Does this not comform to the criteria being explained by Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengham with his quotation from 1st Cortinthians 14-3?

I do not understand how people can make such statements and back them by scripture without making sure that what they are saying is actually correct.

Now I am not saying that I want Mahama to die, but based on Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengham's quotation, this prophesy cannot be ignored and should be taken very seriously.

This is divine counsel.

Are our spiritual leaders, spiritually lead at all? I am an Assembles of God myself and I am shocked by what my own Pastor is quoting here, very incorrect to this issue. Does he know that should the prophesy come true, it also edifies the church for God’s words to come to past. What about the prophet who got killed by a lion? Do you know he prophesied that the king of Israel was going to die? There are countless of death prophesies in the old testament, so my Pastor should go and read about them.

It is true that the test for a prophet is when the prophesy comes true. God has in time past changed his prophesies when the people it was concerned changed and did what was right or petitioned to change their fate. So in human eyes one cannot judge this prophet should his prophesy come to past or not. The fact remains therefore with the Prez, he can disregard this as fake or come true with God. If I were him I will take the latter option as he has nothing spiritual to loose but could cost him his presidency which he stole and other things in his life he needs to come clean with. Look here we have all lost something to become Christians but were all physical, material and carnal in exchange for our salvation. If you were to ask me to choose, again I will prefer the latter. Note guys, I haven’t insulted anyone here but given you facts about the gospel even though without quotes. My pastor is wrong here.

Pastor should not disgrace God by trying to gain favour in the site of men. Whether it is false or its from God what is wrong if someone says you should pray against something which we cannot see. Has prayer cease to be our weapons as christians?

Prophesies have not always been pleasant to hear. Throughout biblical history, the Jews had a lot of of it.Prophesies are not necessarily love letters from God. Truth is the ways of God are different from ours.

Pastor Wengham's admonition here is self serving, if not arrogant. He cannot arrogate to himself the exclusive right to assess the efficacy of a prophesy by a fellow pastor

This prophesy has a time line and the entire nation will be in position to disregard or not at the end of the year.

The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover" Pastor Wengham what about this from the Bible? Didn't Hezekiah prayed to avert it because he understood that God reveals to redeem? Why are you playing games with some ones life? If it were you on deaths radar do you think you will play games? Above all God is not a respecter of persons whereby you will tell me because he is the Prez so let's be soft soft. The best thing to do as a minister of the gospel is that you have to unite and intercede the Prez without asking any further questions.
