It is not about making speeches in front of crowds and doling out gifts to people to buy their loyalty. The presidency is not about buying the loyalty of the parliament by giving them the peoples money, it is not about raising the salaries of the security personnel for their protection while the rest of the country starve. Mahama, please be realistic! Leave the desire for a permanent seat at the Vatican for nations which can afford it. Let these problems be your government's concern: unemployment, homelessness, controlling armed robberies, access to potable water, and electricity, etc.

Isn't it time for this country of 25 million people, which derives much of its GDP from overseas remittances, to find more viable alternate sources of revenues, or cut its expenses to improve the GDP?

The NDC govt must remember that such a senseseless venture if implemented will cost its party dearly at the 2016 elections.

Let's govern ourslves wisely as a nation!
