The NDC would have to explain to Ghanaians how a dead man came to author and sign a letter!
The opening paragraph states, “I came to serve; I have finished my time here on earth and have moved on to everlasting rest and celestial duties with my heavenly father.”
The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?
The letter then goes on melodramatically, “As you leaf through these pages of my life’s story, I pray to God that it touches your heart in many positive ways. Weep not, I am not dead. I am alive and awake in the Lord. Ghana will not die; Ghana will live to declare the works of the Lord. As I rest in perfect peace in the celestial realms with my maker, I pledge to always uphold and defend the good name of Ghana. Remember the Lord in all your ways and He will protect you. Stay well my brothers and sisters, I will always be with you. Signed (with actual signature) John Evans Atta Mills...

Kwame Nkrumah came to the scene and did his bit. He was the luckiest President,Ghana at that time did not owe anybody, as a matter of fact we had in excess of $400 million in our coffers which was bequeathed to us by our Colonial Masters. Some of Nkrumah's policies were good, and some were reckless but he is gone and life goes on. Tetteh Quashie gave Ghana more than Nkrumah did, just consider how much money, employment and scholarships we have derived from cocoa industry over the years.
We now need new leaders with new ideas who can be our heroes in the future. Statues will not help us develop. Personality worshiping is dimming the light of Africa.

Hello,Mr president, I should think it is better to have a fly over or under pass like the Akko Adjei type at the circle to ease {the go slow }for the benefit of the Ghanaian vehicle users than the one man show business which often times characterises 3rd world political administrations. Human beings sometimes are moved by insticnts to take certain descisions which are not very necessary which are at long run found to be regretable, but too late to correct.JJ Rawlings appeared on the scene and thought it laudable to exhume the corpse of the first president from Nkroful to Accra and for this reason a giant mouselium was built for this purpose beffiting the status of the late 1st president which has been accepted by by all and sundry and can be viewed by all political visitors when they pay visit to our dear country.Nobody is against the the statue of Nrumah being built in all corners of Ghana, but have we sat down to think carefully about the necessity of these statues everywhere in the capital city of the Nation\. I believe that another president will come and may suggest that one of these statues be built at the fore court of the Flagstaff house the seat of Government and another one will issue a decree that one must be built at the fore court of the Parliament house. In the advanced countries such statues are also built to remember the leading rolls these personalities took before their demise, but not the rampant nature it is exhibited by our leaders.Iam sure one day Miss Sammia Nkrumah the daughter of the late 1st President will request that one of these statues be built in front of her house and this will pose no resistance. Please mr President think abuot it.

Mr. President, it is true that we recognize our first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah for whatever he had done for this country and Africa at large, but looking at the location where this statue is going to be erected, you would agreed with me and many Ghanians that, the very big problem we have at Kwame Nkrumah circle is traffic congestion. It would prudent for the government to construct Flyover at circle to ease traffic congestion. A provision can be made for a small statue in an ideal location of the flyover. Mr. President, when you go to Obetseby Lamptey circle you would realize that the statue erected by former president kuffour, is only there saluting heavy vehicular traffic which is laughable. Please take my advice and I hope many Ghanians would be grateful for this. Thanks

The statue is an appreciable move and welcome. Now the Committee must always draw the massive attention of the government to emulate the ideals of Osagyefo. Let's learn to put our priority first and right. What is good about putting a giant Kwame Nkrumah statue at the circle area in the stinky filthy environment? Is the costly giant statue a prove that the corruptly divisive Mahama led NDC crooks a real Nkrumahist groupings? a true Patriotic and Pan-Africanist groupings? is the statue the solution to our youth unemployments, bad roads, schools, farmers hardships, hospitals, water, electricity, armed robberies, corruption and sinking of the international image of the country which is turned into safe havens of criminals?
As much as we adore the relevant social economic and political ideas of the great man, Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, based on socialist principles of national developments and Pan-Africanism, spending hard end money on just a statue for him is an insult to his ideas and just making another mockery of cosmetic show out of the founder of our nation who will be turning in his grave for hearing this sad news whilst his people perish in abject poverty and hopelessness.
Do not draw Nkrumah into your dirty criminal politics.

Certainly Nkrumah deserves to be celebrated and honoured but NOT by a failed politician like Mahama. How much of Nkrumah's visions have been materialised by this administration? Nkrumah will be happier to see the Ghana he envisioned than a monumental statue raised in his name in the mist of a failed nation. Please Mahama stop this! Nkrumah will feel disgraced to be associated with Ghana today.
David envisioned building a temple for God but because he was stained with blood God was not pleased with him building a temple in His honour but instead chose Solomon. Mahama is too filthy, too corrupt, too clueless, too inept to be talking about honouring Nkrumah. He shares nothing in common with the great man.
Please leave this project for a more deserving person at the appropriate time when we think Nkrumah's spirit would rejoice. For the moment we have nothing to be proud of. We should rather feel ashamed.

I think the images around the Nkrumah mausoleum and museum are enough and for once I agree with Dr Sekou Nkrumah. I would suggest a Kwame Nkrumah Presidential library, which will house not just Nkrumah's legacy and work, but also house materials about, and for all other Ghana presidents and heads of State. This way, students, researchers and posterity will make a more lasting and meaningful use of, and learn from their individual contributions to help foster our future with the foresight of history. I too believe the statue will be a waste of resources and is rather too late and unnecessary.

Funny! John Mahama is trying to promote himself; he wants to appeal to Ghanaians, most of whom are aggrieved and awaiting the Supreme Court ruling on the election fraud writ filed by Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr. Bawumia, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey & Co.
He's feeling the heat and would want to use Nkrumah's statue as a means to appeal to angry Ghanaians. The funny part of this plot is that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's own son see this as not a national priority. The very party which made sure that Dr. Nkrumah's children were wipped out of Ghana's politics in the recent elections, is turning around to promote Nkrumah's image and ideals.
I'm not a prophet, but I don't think it will work! We have Kwame Nkrumah Circle; we have his statue beautifully errected on High Street, just opposite the Supreme Court. So what is John Mahama and his NDC trying to do.
It's obvious that they can sense a cloud of an imminent catastrophy approaching; they're desperate trying to fashion out good courtesy here. It just won't help, because every clever Ghanaian knows the prevailing political situation or tension in the country.
These kind of political tricks can be used on children. John Mahama and his NDC better think smart. They cannot deceive anyone; not even when they're trying to draw the AU and Africans into this political fray.
