  I am so shocked! I never knew glaucoma to be a black man's disease. This is such an eye opener for me. I have got to go check my eyes, its getting fuzzy out here.

  Vision specialists all over the workd acknowledge Ghana leads the sub-region in Glaucoma incidents. WE MUST ASK WHY, AND FIND ANSWERS IN OUR UNIVERSITIES and Research Labs. Glaucoma is said to be hereditary; so which Ghanaians' life styles, food (local or imported), etc. different from our neighbours contribute to our high cases of Glaucoma. FINDING THE ROOT CAUSES IS AS IMPERATIVE (IF NOT MORE) AS EARLY DETECTION OF GLAUCOMA ONSET. OUR GOVERNMENTS MUST FUND UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH LABS TO EMBARK ON THIS RESEARCH, otherwise future Ghanaian generations will have to depend on expensive daily eye drops.
