In my view these are adhoc measures which though necessary to address the current and immediate problems, are unsustainable over the medium to long term.

If we can 'buy' solar technology from the Chinese and others in the West, why on earth can we not invest in solar and other renewable energy research in our Universities? Challenge our scientists, engineers and architects to work together to dsesign robust solar systems that can capture the sun's energy more efficiently and to develop e.g. batteries that will also provide better storage.

We need a research culture to tackle our economic and development problems and I worry that we are too over-reliant on 'buying in' instead of investing in 'building using technology' and improving on existing energy systems. Am I alone in thinking like this? I hope not.

Am very disappointed in the direction Mahama is taking to solve our energy problem.The best solution for our energy problem is not solar or wind but is nuclear power plant.Both solar and wind have huge disadvantages,solar run only 12 hours each day. wind even though is 24 hours is not constant,it speed flatuate and will not be good for Ghana.It time if Mahama is serious about our energy The US or Russia will to build Ghana a nuclear power plant for about US$2 to US$3billion to solve our energy need.All the world knew that Ghana is having energy problem so there will be no stife position to Ghana seeking nuclear power plant to sovle it energy need.
