Mr President ever since swearing in there had been numerous problems from rigging of votes, the Gold scandals, the gays etc. The list goes on and on. There is no single that you dont creat problems for Ghanaians. Why. Why.Why. I mean you cannot rule a country like this. If your Pillow Case doesn't work properly change it as it seems it doesn't open up your brain right to think straight; not too much sex during the week and grapp a coffee every morning before the start of your day to wake you up as it seems you are dizzy resulting in bad decisions which aren't good for the country. You must also be very careful with your advisers as some of them may not be good to help you out, that is why these problems continue to build up. If however, the advice given is not taken then Mr President you are finished

It's interesting The President ignored Parliament if the rule of the game says his appointees to the Council of State should be vetted by the Appointments Committee for approval. Did the last appointees under Mills appear before the Appointments Committees of Parliament? I never hear or read anything of that sort (though that does not mean it did not happen).

One may ask why the minority would complain about this omission when they say they would boycott the vetting of the President's appointees? Will they have taken part in the vetting had they appeared before the Appointments Committee? It seems they want to eat their cake and still have it.

I have not read nor heard that Council of State members names were sent and vetted by MP. The section quoted in the above is the Parliamentary Standing Orders, which I do think is a quotation from the 1992 Constitution.

Below is the const'nal provisions on appting the members of the Council of state. It is clear President Mahama goofed seriously in meeting the requirements of those provisions. For me, even going on to foist that goat and impostor Agboba on the VR as a member clearly indicates that Mahama is showing serious and debilating lack of sane judgement and he must be told and reined in by all sane who think they know better people.

Article 89 of the constitution of Ghana;
(1) There shall be a Council of State to counsel the President in the performance of his functions.
(2) The Council of State shall consist of -
(a)The following persons appointed by the President in consultation with Parliament-
(i) one person who has previously held the office of Chief Justice;
(ii)one person who has previously held the office of Chief of Defence Staff of the Armed Forces of Ghana;
(ii) one person who has previously held the office of Inspector General of Police
(b) The President of the National House of Chiefs;
(c) one representative from each region of Ghana elected, in accordance with regulations made by Electoral Commission under article 51of this Constitution, by an electoral college comprising two representatives from each of the districts in the regions nominated by the District Assemblies in the regions; and
(d) eleven other members appointed by the President.
(3) The Council of State shall elect a Chairman from among its members.
(6) The appointment of a member of the Council of State may be terminated by the president on grounds of stated misbehaviour or of inability to perform his functions arising from infirmity of body or mind, and with prior approval of Parliament.

THE MPs HAVE NO BUSINESS ASKING THE PRESIDENT TO CONSULT THEM FOR HIS COUNCIL OF STATE APPOINTMENTS. THE PRESIDENT IS OBLIGED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ART.89 (2) OF OUR CONSTITUTION TO APPOINT 3 PERSONS IN CONSULTATION OF PARLIAMENT. FOR THE REST OF THE COUNCIL OF STATE ELDERS, THE PRESIDENT DOESN'T NEED THE HELP OF THE MPs.

(1) There shall be a Council of State to counsel the President in the
performance of his functions.
(2) The Council of State shall consist of -
(a) the following persons appointed by the President in
consultation with Parliament -
(i) one person who has previously held the office of
Chief Justice;
(ii) one person who has previously held the office of
Chief of Defense Staff of the Armed Forces of
Ghana;
(iii) one person who has previously held the office
of Inspector-General of Police;

In the same regard, nominated/elected counsel of state members must appear before Parliamentary Appointment Committee for approval be it NPP absent or present so Mr NKOTB for President 2016 go back and read the laws of Ghana and we may vote you PRESIDENT in 2016 afterall, any idiot can stand for President.
