Thses MPs are even lucky. The police should have made them walk from home. What sensible things do they do besides raising their allowances, taking fat rent allowances, eating like hungry pigs and drinking like camels at the parliament house. Besides that the MPs do nothing of much importance. They are always voting on party lines and making parliament like a rubber stamp. Then we have those who boycott parliament but watch the proceedings on TV. Most of these MPs are just a useless lot.
Are the MPs not aware that the security of the president is very important to the security officers on duty and that they will use any means legal and even otherwise to ensure his security. The MPs can rave,whine and rant. The security will do what they have to do.

When Kwaku Baako informed us about the atrocities of Kwesi Pratt during PNDC Regime, some of us did not believe until the truth was confirmed during the NRC. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. What I can see was the problem was some of them as usual will not follow protocol to arrive on time but will go there when they want but expect the security agencies to let them in because they work there forgeting that the security of the president and other dignities there is very important than their own.

They should just have a cut off time for these MPs to arrive at these events and failure to arrive on time as stated whether they work there or not they should not be allow to get in,enough of their arrogance and backwardness.

What dignity have our MPs when cases are pending in court against some of them for corruption?
In the light of the "all die be die" mantra and the non acceptance and recognition of the elected president by the NPP, does it not make sense to tighten security of the president?
The Mps should not see themselves as they are super Ghanaians and submit themselves to all righteousness in the words of that religious leader.
They must learn to sacrifice their comfort at a point in time for the sake of the nation Ghana. Osei Akoto is one MP who likes complaining about the dignity of MPs but he has a case in court. Even if he is proved to be innocent, it means he did not behave in a way expected of an MP and that sent him to court.

The above quote from Hon. Akoto Osei, if to be taken seriously, tells all of us that while Parliamentarians on the other said of the aisle, continue to boycott proceedings of the house in spite of the constitution's clear authority that the President, once declared by the Electoral Commission and sworn in continues to be president unless otherwise he is asked to step aside or abdicates or vacates office, respected 'Men of Honor' refuse to give due cogniznce to the Authority of the Constitution and continue to boycott proceedings where in their estimation the president is the direct or indirect beneficiary.

Yet, a little incovenience, (and I say a little because Ghanaians go through this on a daily basis) like the reported police action is such an abhorence to them that Akoto Osei has the audacity to go to town with it.

Regrettably, it is not even one of the many MPs going to Parliament to do what the Constitution asks of him who is complaining but rather one going to Parliament House with the sole aim and purpose of flounting the Constitution.

Our friends on the other side continue to collect their over-bloated salaries and I hear after they boycotted the State of the Nation Address that took well over an hour, they remained to fight over food.

The Indiscipline in the Country has its roots all the way to the door step of those in leadership positions.

This obvious attempt to make Ghana UNGOVERNABLE and BE-LITTLE our President in the eyes of the world is a very BIG setback for all Ghanaians and if Hon. Akoto Osei does not see this but sees a minor police action as a threat to his 'dignity', then, of course, he is laying his PRIORITIES bare.

Because I am an MP I can over speed on the highway and no police can stop me, I can ask my driver to drive on the shoulders of the street. Eg in UK MPs are not given special treatment because of the positions they hold, but are there to serve the people. MPs ride on bicycles to parliament not in expensive cars. The opposite in Ghana and Africa as a whole where politicians utilise tax payers to live luxurious lifestyle. There are more important issues to discuss than this trivial issue Dr Osei Akoto.
