  We don't have a large unemployment in Ghana. I guess it might be between 15% to 20%. We have large number of people working on a daily basis but not counted as working because they don't pay national taxes. We must all agree that people working in the informal markets are duly working and must be recognized as such. Those men and women who are working at Makola, Central, and other markets must be given their due. We are only counting the official and formal markets to our own detriment. In USA a person working one hour as a paid employee or worked 15 hours or more as unpaid worker in his/her family business is counted as employed. As unemployed a person who during the week before the survey is conducted had no employment and made specific efforts to find a job will be counted as unemployed. What the government of Ghana has to do is to define what is a job; define who is unemployed; define full time and part time jobs; our official unemployment rate; define the discouraged workers; etc. What we are doing is not the right thing to do.

  and people that get tired of looking aren't counted since they don't show up at unemployment agency looking for help..True people working in markets or selling pussy or drugs are working..But problem is tax;s not paid..Ghana ...

  and people that get tired of looking aren't counted since they don't show up at unemployment agency looking for help..True people working in markets or selling pussy or drugs are working..But problem is tax;s not paid..Ghana must do like usa and like notices of people bank accounts to usa..which why drug dealers and whore pay cash for big items...Usually fulltime is 40 hours per week in usa..part time is about 2 hours per week

  graduate groups have said before they cant get jobs...old people must retire and move to pension..Current retirement age for old people in usa is 65 years and for those of us born in 60's now 67 years..those people have to mo ...
