Ghanaians, are we for REAL?
In the 21st Century, when some are getting ready to inhabit MARS, we continue to think like that?
The Real beneficiaries of this STUPID program are the Car Manufacturers and those Selling the Cars. And, of course, Mr. 10%.
While they reap an immdiate windfall, 200 brand new Taxis will be placed in the hands of NOVICE DRIVERS when those who have been driving for decades can not still decipher the driving grid in our choked streets.
But more importantly, for a resource constrained country such as our own, Our choices of INVESTMENT must have MORE LOCAL CONTENT and earn foreign exchange to help meet balance of payment needs.
IF I were given the same $3 Million I would put 2,000 Ghanaians to work, the money will be paid back in 2 years and the workers will be self sufficient from there on. Ghana will also earn Foreign Exchange in the process.
Ghanaians in the Diaspora are already heavily investing in vehicles.
AGRIC SOLUTIONS we are told will Salvage our Economy.
AFRICAN GROWTH AND OPPORTUNITIES ACT (AGOA) is screaming for increased participation by Ghanaian businesses.
Taxis DO NOT QUALIFY. They take hard earned Foreign Exchange from the system. AGOA participation will bring us Foreign Exchange.
Nobody is complaining of inadequate taxis on our streets. In fact we should be doing exactly the opposite and replace taxis with Mass Transit vehicles that would carry more people and reduce the congestion.
Ghanaians, We must start thinking.
This, certainly, is NOT the best use for the amount of money.
There are many Ghanaians who are prepared to contribute REAL Society TRANSFORMAYIONAL Ideas for the pennies that non-corrupt workers take home. Yet, our governments always manage to get people WHO DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT into positions to make asses of all of us.

Ok, I want someone or DVLA Ghana to help me with this one!!! Driving in Ghana,
WHICH SIDE OF THE MOTORWAY IS THE FAST OR OVERTAKING LANE?
I was driving on both the new and the old so called motorways in Ghana and Jesus, it's a shame, What a shame. This is a shame.
After 57 + years of independence we can't even DRIVE or follow simple instruction.
I know the LEFT LANE is the driving lane and mostly meant for slower vehicles and the RIGHT hand lane for overtaking and fast moving vehicles.
Hmmmm, Just go and see for yourself. You have to dodge vehicles to move from A to B on the so called motorways in Ghana. Everybody drive where he or she feels like. No wonder the roads in Ghana are nothing but death traps.
IT'S A SHAME!! WHAT A SHAME. DVLA Ghana, educate people on which side of the road to drive on.
Thank you.

90% of accidents that occur on our roads involve a taxi/tro-tro/benz bus etc. What does this tell you? Left to me alone, Govt and DVLA should organize a training programe on driving and road use/etiquette, etc., for all taxi and tro-tro drivers before adding another 200 reckless youth to compound the issue. I will like to see some statistics on those new youth drivers 6 months from today.

What is going wrong in the heads of these unscruipulously visionless NDC government? Somebody, please, stop them before our nation is totally wrecked beyond recovery. Can't believe this happening to Ghana in the world's 21st century technological and scientific advancements.
That is absolutely a waste and outrageously misplacement of national priority! STOP IT NOW!!!!

This is the dumbest idea. Whoever brought this up. What happens when the cars get in an accident. Given the nature of our roads, transportation business especially taxis and trotros are some of the most riskiest ventures around. For $3million dollars, there a whole lot of programs that can be done. An investment in agriculture would have produced more jobs.
A program which pays to to 70% of the salaries of the youth in various government and private industries for about 3 years would have been more ideal. The youth gets the needed work experience. Such programs elsewhere have shown a high retention rate of employment at the end of the program.
