The government should do better.WHERE IS THE OIL,GOLD,DIAMOND,COCOA,BAUXITE,MANGANESE etc MONEY?All POLITICIANS have BIG STOMACH.It's unfortunate that the helpless patients are suffering because we have a government that does not share our resources proportionately but rather squanders it.Recently,MAHAMA promised to increase the pay of CHIEFS.I DON'T KNOW WHY.If there is a problem like this (PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL)hanging on his shoulders,why telling GHANA about errection of NKRUMAH'S HUGE STATUE?Even his own son SEKOU said the timing is wrong,but these MAHAMA AND HIS NDC didn't see that.
THIS IS SAD NEWS.I don't know how a private firm can help if it cannot make any profit there.Because,it is free of charge.So where would those that can't pay be,if a private company takes charge to charge the patients?Won't that also create another bad situation for Ghana?We have to think about this very well before anything done.

The GH51 Million paid to Woyome could have been better used here.The NDC should bury their heads in shame.People are dying of hunger and starvation and yet Woyome gets this amount free.Stupid.

The best strategy is to form a "Ghana Psychiatry Hospitals Foundation" (different and independent body from the hospital's board). This foundation which is an administrative team, could be headed by some prominent Ghanaian man (e.g., philanthropist, well-like Statesman in the likes of Kofi Anan, a minister, even a past Head of State). The foundation is tasked to solicit funds from the private sector, such as businesses, past patients and/or their families and even external international agencies such as NGOs. In fact, many hospitals in Canada and the USA do have such Foundations operating for them. The foundation for my hospital for example was able to raise about one hundred million dollars ($100,000,000) for the hospital last FY 2011-2012 (fiscal year).
Please try this strategy, IT WORKS! Believe me! It really does.

massa to tell you the truth, our country is a failed state. each one for himself, God for we all. that is the kind of system we are used to and it will take divine miracle to change.

not a single state institution is running effectively can you believe that? please if you have any foundation kindly run it privately and organize easter soup kitchens for our unfortunate brothers and sisters who find themselves in that state of mental health and have been seriously let down by the state.

Please, if you steal from your place of work, don't generalise. There are loads and loads of descent Ghanaians both home and abroad who understand that any form of theft is immoral and won't it for any reason.
