Why should Komkombas be arrested for protecting their farms against Fulani destruction even though the government has always failed to protect citizens as happened at Agogo in Ashanti? I hope the Komkombas will continue to protect themselves from Fulani agression as well as from government officials who stand to benefit from these scandals. In fact they are very stupid because we cannot speak with one voice that's why these few minorities are taken control of Akans. The owners must acquire land and practice scientific animal husbandry and not the archaic type of animals roaming about sometimes in the streets and messing up others' property.

Sometimes you see cow droppings all over, do they care about spread of diseases and destruction of property, why should we care if they lose their investment? The source of protein is not beef! How does the beef get its protein? Fruits for thought.

Have you also consider the plight of the very poor subsistence farmer who has toiled with his family to clear the land, farm, planted crops to feed and sell any surplus for the upkeep of his family, just for the cattle to graze over and destroy everything without any compensation?
Just put yourself in the shoes of such a poor farmer.. If one decides to keep commercial livestock, one has to be able invest money and labour to house and feed them. One can't just allow his cattle to deprive fellow farmers of their livelihood, just for the cattle farmer to sell his cattle and become rich at the expense of the poor crop farmers.
The free-range practice must cease. In fact, I heard the president during the campaign that he was going to set up a committee to look into this practice. He was going to study a pilot project in Niger or one of our neighbouring countries, where it is now illegal to free-range. Stopping free-range will definitely stop all the revenge attacks on the cattle and the herders. If the herdsmen can't control or stop the animals from destroying other people's farms then the best thing to do is to fence them in and feed them,,, after all, this is business that needs investment. The Europeans you are talking about have strict animal husbandry and environmental laws.. Although some of their cattle barns appear not fenced, most have electric fences to keep the animals in. To your information, there are laws at play in Europe and other developed nations and there are consequences for any infringement of these laws........

Here free range is practiced on Government Land; that is, the land that belongs to the Government and is managed by the Office of Land Management (BLM). No one farms on those lands so there is no private property to be destroyed by the herd, so you see; the white man has something to teach us as Ohene said.

The animals need to walk around but they cannot and should not be trespassing and destroying other folks livelihood, in that case keep them caged and do not pollute the streets of Ghana. We do not need to be endangered with animal diseases from cow droppings all over, and folks should not have to have their livelihood taken away from them so others can prosper.

Why would journalists mention names of certain tribes when there is trouble and choose to mention towns when other tribes are involved.
