The last rail service to Kumasi from Accra was in 2002.So who collapsed it? indeed it started from many years back when it was separated from ports and harbors and revenue generated was paid into govt chest.As expected govt never invested in it.Kuffuor bought locomotives like Rawlings did during his time but he never constructed a good rail line from Accra to Tema .What they constructed was a joke and the Mills govt had to reconstruct the Accra Tema line but railways needs more than just these cosmetic solutions.

Make John Kwakye the minister for Railways and let him help develop this sector of transportation instead of just sitting on the sidelines and critiquing. LETS GIVE SUCH PEOPLE THE CHANCE TO SHOW WHAT THEY HAVE INSTEAD OF LISTENING TO THEIR CRITICISMS

Railways are safer than automobiles. If we are serious about safe transportation, then we should not give up on our rail systems. It would in some way, alleviate some of the problems caused by our dangerous motorways.

What actually was the job of the ministers for transport in the previous governments? And what were they paid for? Somebody should wake up.
