The EU organisations happen to be the major international partner of Ghana in these projects.
Therefore you should take what he says seriously. He and those he represents are not idiots.

Ghana must not entertain an HASTILY business transaction; it always ends up, taking the State to the cleaners for an irresponsible amount, just because, there are fellow Nationals involved on the DEALS. Satisfy yourselves on the language of agreements; there are 'tons' more in the pipe-line seeking businesses with the leadership. And it's always advisable to go through them to acquaint ourselves in the transactions.

The bottom line is, we do not control our own economy and not just because we live in a globalized economy. Ghana must sit up and smell the coffee. Until we take charge of our own affairs we will have to answer to the people who fund our budgets and our elections.

But instead of getting down to work, our Plesident John Drossmani Mahameho has been parading up and down Ghana since his inauguration, looking for photo opportunities and ways of spending money so he can make himself look good in the eyes of Ghanaians.

How can a country with a population of only 25 million with so much resources become so desperate? Now the oppressors Nkrumah sent packing-out are now back wearing new masks as Development Partners telling us what to do because we failed to do it right on own volition, MISERABLE INDEED!

The sad situation is, Ghana doesn't lack competent professionals who can handle affairs but such people will not show-up, and even if they show-up they will never be given the chance to lead the nation.

The Mills/Mahama administration did not take the energy and water crisis serious when they took over in 2009. If they had given them the urgent priority that they deserved from the word go as Mahama is now doing, the situation would have been different by now. After four years in office gas infrastructure development for the gas from Jubilee Oil field should be ready by now. Yet the gas is being flared whilst the nation regularly experience shortage of LPG.

How can any any country grow her economy and improve marco economic indicators when it is experiencing water and energy crisis. These two ingredients are critical for production and productivity in factories and offices. I do not know if anyone in government has tried to quantify in monetary terms, the cost to the economy of lack of regular supply of energy and water.

Coupled with these two crisis, the NDC government was boasting of increasing public sector wages. In fact the Single Spine was used as an achievement and election propaganda only for it to be questioned after the elections. The fact is they cannot eat their cake and still have it.

Only God knows how with decreasing production as a result of the energy and water crisis, and increasing public sector wages inflation is said to be in single digits. No doubt, interest rates is very high.

Obenfo, there is nothing wrong with Ghana's international partners voicing their concerns about the economic situation. The IMF, World Bank and OECD all criticise UK's economic policies if in their view that is not the best for the country, how much more Ghana that received huge budget support form donor nations?

When there is no vibrant economic activities in the country that can grow the economy, the economy becomes stagnant and the stagnation pushes inflation figures down.

Sometimes I laugh my lungs out when I hear of Ghana receiving grants as low as $5.0 million for certian micro projects. And the question that comes to mind is that is the country so poor that it cannot do anything on its own? Nothing seems to ever work well in Africa. They cannot go to any of the South American nations and do the same or even worse in Asia.

The same situation with FIFA that a mere Secretary General can issue a direct warning to the President of Ghana (Prez Mills) and nobody could tell the guy to shut up his stinking mouth.

Let Ghanaians know what Mahama's response was. I have said it over and again to friends that I am happy to only visit Ghana for vacation and nothing more although my wife and I have a fairly decent house in Accra. The corruption starts from Kotoka Airport.

Even the service on the plane to Ghana is nothing to drive home about.

Check and find out what they did in South Africa and Zimbabwe or Namibia and see what they did to make where their kith and kin settled look like their own places. Nkrumah was fighting for the African and was going to set an indelible example for all to see that, the African or Black Man is capable of doing everything right. What you must know is that, Nkrumah was neither for the East nor West but was only for Freedom and Justice. That is exactly what all that opposed Nkrumah were against: Freedom and Justice. These NDC guy's have on plans whatsoever.I mean no laid down blueprints. Just doing what comes to to their minds.Their master ex president Rawlins was the same till the western nations came to his rescue. I implore presid Mahama to seek the help of Osafo Marfo then ex presid Kuffour's finance Minister. All the economic growth NDC Bragg about, was as a result of good economic foundation laid by Kuffour's gov't but, most Ghanaians simply don't accept this gospel truth.

If these are not forthcoming then Ghana could be in real trouble - just look at the way the EU has dealt with some of it's own members (ie Greece, Spain, Ireland and Portugal) who have reneged on promises to improve in the past and expect to continue to receive handouts but have now had hard choices forced on them.
The EU does not spend it's money and expect to hear only promises, it will want action!
