All those with big titles who sit in their offices and don't go to the field to see what is going on is to blame. If they do the practical side of their big title and do not concentrate only on the theory, our land would be fruitful. Look at our roads; do they come to see what those corrupt contractors are doing? No, they construct the road anyhow and leave it half completed. No drainage, no sidewalk for pedestrians, open gutters and list go on. Look at our street lights. Some have fallen down, some do not have bulbs, and some have all their wires coming out. You think they care? Do not blame this government alone. They need to get their ass off those offices and be in the field to see things first hand.
If Ghana should be given to the white people, they would turn this country around in second. They would use our rubbish we dump to generate power. They would use our sea water to keep water in our pipes. Common fertilizer we import. What a shame. Book long for nothing. American students come to Ghana to build briges for us.

In 8-good-years Kuffuor was only stealing from left, right and center to the extent he ended up owing the best hotels, malls, lands etc in the country.

Kronfuor Kuffuor sold Ghana Airways on the pretense of getting in a better deal but what happened? They had mortgaged part of Ghana yet BUSH SYCOPHANTS still do not want to accept that Kronfuor was really a Kronfuor.

It was Kuffuor, The most darkest ugliest tall John who resembles darkness sold Ghana Telecoms to the white man for 99yrs in return for his selfish soft money, a political greasing of the palm, how selfish?

It this same Kuffuor, also code named lame duck and 'MUMU' said corruption wasn't a crime since it started from Adam & Eve, What a Kookoase wiseman?

Anyway, I don't intend to go on and on but I'm really sorry for this author as he has lost total confidence in the Ghanaian leadership.

And one thing needs consideration here as this current government can improve the conditions of poverty in Ghana given time. The government is still too young so allow the govt some time. NPP wants this country ungovernable with their aggressively violent Bush-Rats attitude but they sure would fail.

How can you as an individual cheat, cut corners, avoid your responsibilities and hope that others should make your society better? If everybody does his/her bit towards making Ghana better, Ghana will be a better Ghana.

It is now plain to all that the NPP's strategy is to embark on painting everything as totally falling apart: a doom and gloomy picture so that people will say NDC has failed. That is being unpatriotic because not all problems are created by the government and so all hands met be on deck to solve it. NPP is pushing their PULL-HIM-DOWN strategy too far!

What did Hannah Tetteh achieve at Trade and Industry, what did Oteng Adjei achieve at energy? what did Nana Oye achieve? We need men and women who confront the odds and scale the heights. Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing knew the risks in attempting to mount the majestic Mountain Everest. Many had tried earlier to conquer Everest and had lost their lives. They knew the same could happen to them but they were not deterred by the failures of those who had come before them.They did not quit because others had failed. With determination they made their un- erasable mark in history. They conquered the seemingly invincible, demystified the myth of the intimidating height, humbled the proud peak. They subdued Everest for good and for posterity. They gave themselves a name and a fame that can never be conquered. They blazed a trail for many to stroll on to fame. My good friend, you resignation is happily and gratefully accepted. Thank you for letting us know your limitations in the struggle. We need more of such resignations so we will be able to know the men and women on their feet for the forward march of a better, courageous, prosperous and peaceful Mother Ghana. You have done your bit and we are grateful. Multiparty democracy is unworkable in Ghana and black Africa. Just take a look around the continent. In Kenya, an indicted cutthroat named Kenyatta is poised to rule, Nigeria has been ruled by bufoonic bandits and see where it is. The problem is all over. It will not be long before a new spate of coups will start because the lawlessness, deprivation and suppression of the people cannot go on forever. the threshold of tolerance is not far. A country where the police have licensed themselves to rob and practice extortion on a daily basis, will not succeed. We may have to hire the whiteman to rule us.

Countries with less population sizes normal have high real GDP than those with large quantum of people.

I hope where you want to naturalize and therefore be a full citizen, when things were previously bad and uncomfortable no one ran away to another country or resigned but they collectively worked hard to make it beautiful and rich as you see and now prefer to be a citizen. And so why can you come back to Ghana and work hard to fix the country just as those whites did to their country and now you want to take the citizenship? You don't expect anyone to fix Ghana for you to come and live in happily, come back and let us work collectively for betterment just as those whites have done to their countries. Mahama neither NDC, NPP nor I alone can fix Ghana better unless you come and help.

Most nations outside of Africa have made strides but we in black Africa are marking time. One might even fathom with the idea that if our founders knew that these were the leaders we were going to breed, perhaps we could have continued with our colonial masters. Look at where we are, eager to take pride in our achievements, but all we can boast of as rightly pointed out is being able to go to the ballot box!!- Really, what about infrastructure, descent wages, better homes for our people, good roads to all neighbourhood. Instead corruption has become a national cancer despite extreme religiosity. People talk about God and continue to cheat, everybody is seeking his own but none for their neighbours. The police, politicians, clergy, and all of us are so corrupt that the word corruption is no longer fit to be used. Cheating, robbery, immorality are so endemic and it makes it look like there is never an end in sight-What a shame. When!! oh when!! are we going to see the better days we all looked forward since the day of independence?- I weep for Ghana

The writer is entitled to his opinion and I respect that, but that does not mean, because of the challenges facing our dear nation I should resign or surrender my identity as a Ghanaian. Writer,I understand your discouragement and frustrations but you don't allow them to degenerate to a point of total hopelessness and despair. At that level life becomes hopeless and lifeless. A discouraged life is a disabled life. That life is a non-functional life.
So until your hope is alive your future is not in view. My fellow Ghanaians let us encourage ourselves and not lose hope. Yes, it may be true that we have not reached where we want to be but it's also truer to say we as individuals and as a nation have left where we used to be. As a nation and as individuals who are still alive today, we still have targets ahead of us which are yet to be achieved.
Friend, I particularly refuse to give up on Ghana. I refuse to concentrate, complain, grumble or murmur on what is lost or what I don't have. I celebrate what is left and what I have.
Friend I will never give up on Ghana or her children irrespective of the seemingly chronic problems besetting us as a people. Ghana is not a hopeless nation and Ghanaians are not hopeless people. I will never throughout my existence on this earth ever give up on my nation or my fellow precious Ghanaians. I will always cherish and uphold them wherever I find them.
Col Achiampong of blessed memory once said, 'one day the nations of this earth will come and learn from us'.
Precious sons and daughters of Ghana, if we going to see fulfilment of our dreams collectively and be a blessing to the nations of the world beyond where we are, irrespective of our collective challenges, then let us appreciate where we are and what we are today, The unction of blessing and multiplication travels in the vehicle of appreciation.
I say to my bother, the writer of this article, don't allow the seemingly insurmountable challenges facing your dear nation Ghana cause you to resign your identity as a Ghanaian. Ghana needs you more than any other time in your life to stand by her through these testing times. Remember, 'when the going gets tough, the tough gets going'. If you and I do not give up hope on Mother Ghana, one day, we, and if not we, our children shall reap the fruits of her labour.

I also await the action on the recent NYEP thievery, and we the people waking up to the scandal of the MPs deciding to increase their housing allowance by a percentage they dreamed of andCG implemenented. I await the scandal at SADA of starting the programme by planting trees and not food and paying the contractors upfront. I am waiting to see the ECG
boss resign over the illegal connections and wrongs in his establishement out of shame. I await action on the NHIS corruption being sorted out and doctors in the north having their own clinics and neglecting their patients being dealt with. I know my letter might remain in the drawer for long, but I am willing to wait a little longer. Mr President, walk the talk.
