Can they also be honest and say that some regions like Ashanti and Eastern regions have been totally ignored and denied their fare share of the national cake? What are these two greedy bastards saying about free secondary education for all children instead of only a section of the population including Mahama's children while the children of the poor rural folk in Southern Ghana remain illiterate? We have to be honest with ourselves to give genuine answers to above questions to realize that it's more difficult to make ends meet in Ghana today. Mahama only buys his ways out with the money of Ghanaians only to tell them that we are left with bones, so tighten your belts. IMANI Ghana has good and respected international reputation. It is neutral in its' presentations and criticsms.And, I think NDC has problem and feels uncomfortable with IMANI. Rawlings should therefore stop his hypocritical remarks. Mahama was prominent in Mills' administration and the results of which Ghahaians are expierencing today. IMANI is not 'buyable'!!!

What is happening now is an orchestrated effort by the NPP and its cohorts to make it look like Ghana is in a crisis and President Mahama is not capable of providing solutions. It is as if they are thinking that, this will persuade the Supreme Court to rule in their favour. What a funny world.
These evil planners have forgotten that President Mahama is just beginning his 4-year mandate. It is not reasonable to assess a student for his final certificate just after his admission. President Mahama's sensible assessmrent shall be after 4 years when the good people of Ghana shall decide to retain him or not as President.
Most of the problems that are giving the President sleepless nights today have been caused by failures of the past 8 years of which NPP was in charge. if Ghana is in a crisis now then those who should be held responsible are the past Governments and not the Government of Mahama.
So far, the President has demonstrated that he understands Ghana's present situation and he has what it takes to provide solutions to all emerging problems. The President will do himself a lot of good by keeping his focus on "the ball" and refusing to be distracted by the evil critics.

The current constitution, was written under the "nose" of JJ and he was happy to be given tax exemption status. All the years that he ruled the nation, he never paid a pesewa in tax while taxing the poor.

We all know that any nation depends on taxes to raise revenue so, if the president is given tax exemption, who should pay tax? JJ is the reason behind this "day time robbery" of the nation and do you think Obama, David Cameron etc will have that status?

The current unemployment in Ghana, was the result of his SAP economic he introduced when he took office and the ripple effect is being felt now.

JJ is a great man or leader to those who do not have any knowledge about what he did to this nation. Imagine how long he rule the nation and without paying taxes. If JJ tells you that he is poor, rain all curses on him because he is fake, pretender, thief and outright liar.

Well, it's not very surprising that IMANI is been subjected to all this level of criticism. The work of IMANI and the role of IMANI as a CSO, is to engage in very DEEP INTELLECTUAL ANALSIS of issues bedevilling the nation, with a view to seek gov'ts input and direction with respect to our developmental goals, vis-a-vis, their own suggestions and recommendations. Nobody can cower IMANI and well meaning Ghanaians embrace wholeheartedly, the depth of analytical rigour with which IMANI brings to the table. The points raised by Kofi Bentil about the quality of leadership Ghana is saddled with is very spot on. The kind of leadership Ghana has now, is very uninspiring, mediocre, non performing and non achieving and completely incompetent and inept. Those are the hard bare facts, take it or leave.
Those times when CSO's were bought and sang the praises of the political fatcats are gradually becoming a thing of the past, thanks to the work of IMANI and other well intentioned CSO's. It would be very important for all the various political parties to take the criticisms raised by IMANI and other CSO's in their stride, and seek to come to power based solely, on competent, intelligent, forward looking leaders, who have got the intellectual acumen and ability to brainstorm and deliver on the socio-economic well being of the Ghanaian. So I say, a very big kudos to IMANI and congratulations on the work you are doing.

What we need is genuine non-partisan, constructive criticism from any group and taking government to task on their stewardship of the country's asserts. Even when people with political affiliations wish to criticise government, we expect them to address the facts and figures in an objective way.

The trouble with many of these so-called independent "Think Tanks" and NGOs springing up in Ghana (and the rest of Africa if I may add) is that they tend to be self-serving in most cases and in the case of Ghana, they have shown themselves to be partisan as well or leaning towards one party or the other (and this by the way is not limited to IMANI alone as others favour the NDC). This is a great pity because a genuine, non-partisan and serious organization which could put government in check can only be a good thing for the country.

I condemn wholly and reject any group which purports to be working in the interests of Ghana and would condemn everything that the government says or does off hand without addressing the facts. That President Rawlings (no fan of mine) can come out this way and specifically challenge IMANI's ill-judged and largely inaccurate assertions and their rather negative impressions of the president and his leadership does not make them credible to me. It clearly shows a bias on their part and a failure to see anything good in what the president and his government do. That is not adding to our democracy and if IMANI wishes to be taken seriously by critics like myself, then they had better rethink their approach, renounce (or declare) their party affiliations or leanings and any potential conflicts of interest so that all Ghanaians will know exactly who they are. It is shameful to hide behind an interest in "good governance" whilst being partisan or biased or refusing to be objective. Cudjoe, Bentil and their lot must realise that it is they who may be taking "Ghanaians for granted" after all!
