This is not your father's Ghana Sydney this is Ghana for the tribal zealotry bunch brought on by a Messiah Rawlings regime that exposed Ghana to tribal politics at its worst. A budget like every document is only a guideline but it takes people with ideals, ideas, foresight and above all wisdom to do the right thing by the people they serve. If Ghana's voting public for years continue to vote people purely on tribal and political party allegiance and or affiliation an get screwed royally but keep voting them back into office then it is not the elected members of parliament or the people occupying office of the president who are the problems but yes the fools who keep voting them in.
Look here, I do not mind if it is a Northerner or Fanti or Ashanti or Denkyira, Nzima you name it that runs the country as long as their decisions are in the best interest of the nation. Rawlings killed and humiliated mothers who happened to be petty traders because they dared disobey the Messiah Rawlings. Kufour stole and sold what he could easily lay his hands on and it was alright with some of you as long as a very few got a piece of the Ghana pie. Atta Mills gave his gang the license to steal because he could not control them. But above all southern tribes in Ghana to which I'm one could not bring themselves to see Northerners as Ghanaians with just as warped brains as the rest of us. It is their turn to act just as selfish, greedy and uncaring as Rawlings and his gang, Kufour and his cabal and Atta Mills and his see no evil hear no evil bandits. We should just enjoy the fruits of the seeds we planted years ago when every moron from the Ashanti region down to the coastal tribes rode on their dumb, ignorant and ill-mannered horses and run the nation into the ground doing so. By the way Sydney you think your family got what they have or had because they earned every piece?

Like you I too have been wondering for the first time in my three years back whether moving back was the right decision.
From a layman's perspective, the government doesn't appear to be grasping the enormity of the situation, or they would be addressing it more urgently than they are.
Do we have to hit rock bottom before we as a people wake up from our collective slumber and hold all our public leaders accountable?
It's time to set party politics aside and for all the so called leaders of this country to get round a table and come up with viable solutions for this country's problems. I for one am sick and tired of all the rhetoric being spewed by the various party members. All I want when I wake up in the morning is clean water, electricity and food and at a price that I can afford!
And we as Ghanaians need to stop allowing ourselves to be divided by arty politics and unite for the pursuit of our common needs.
