You may not receive in cash but you certainly do receive in kind.

Dr. Afriyie would not blame MPs, (and note he is not blaming NPP MPs only), if he knew what the money was used for. If there is very little money in the fund which cannot pay for medicines and allied services why use it for capital expenditure? Only there too many fools and illiterates controlling our affairs!
If govt. borrowed 8 billion dollars in the past four years, excluding internally generated funds in the form of taxes and duties, why are you fighting over capital expenditure in the health sector? Look for the drain somewhere else! This is PATHETIC!

This is the most ridiculous act by MPs. These MPS are really stupid. They collect NHIS funds for cheap politics and chop chop chop in the guise of investment? This is extremely absurd indeed. Funds for sickness diverted for toilets in health facilities? I just cant believe this!!!. Idiots and idiots and you turn round to say you cannot pay hospitals that provided service? As for this one, it can only happen in GHANA under visionless government.

Can someone educate me on the purpose of the NHIS fund? I am faintly aware that, part of workers SSNIT contribution and VAT was used as seed money to set up this fund. What right have MPs to be drawing money from this fund to finance capital investments in the health sector? Who are the experts who drafted this stupid proposal which was then rubber-stamped by our corrupt dishonest parliamenterians? These modern day pen robbers, earn more than they deserve, draw funds from the MPs Common fund and not content are surreptitiously withdrawing funds from the NHIS fund too to fund their luxurious life-styles. Meanwhile, these same MPs will rush to the press and condemn government for running down the NHIS, without revealing that they are also part of the problem. Democracy gone to the pigs. A lot of thanks to Dr. Kweku Afriyie for exposing this rot in our dear country. Indeed, I weep for Ghana.

There is nothing wroung with using NHIS fund to construct Chiraa Health Post and others accross the country but there is something wrong paying the claims for the service providers. Our contributions have become seed monies for political construction industries and there is nothing wrong with that Mr. MP?

Requiring MPs to propose a project politicizes the whole process and takes the decision making out of the hands of professionals. And of course, this opens the door to corruption because the MPs will now have to be influenced by the contractors and suppliers who will benefit from the project, or the MP may become the supplier to the project. Why do we continue to create these processes that are fraught with conflict of interest and self dealing? When are we going to learn?
